It appears as if my PC has gotten a virus, trojan or something. It has disabled my anti-virus program (ATT Security Suite) and I can't get it going again. It has disabled my 5-in-1 drive (with SD card reader). It has taken some measure of control of Firefox. For instance if I do a search in Yahoo that has multiple pages when I click on "2" to go to the second page it takes me to another random website.
I ran Exterminator 2 from PCPitstop and it supposedly found and quarantined Trojan.Crypt.FKM.Gen and Trojan.Win32.Vundo.Gen, but that apparently hasn't solved anything.
Immediately after startup I get the message: "Windows - No Disk Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c" I also get this message when I start some programs such as Spybot.
I've installed Avast in safe mode and it came up clean; however, if I try to start in normal mode with Avast installed I get the BSOD. With Avast UNinstalled it will start in normal mode, but still with the previously mentioned problems.
At the end of my rope, I installed the free version of Prevx 3.00, and it claims to have found 18 "threats". I don't know anything about Prevx so I don't know how reliable it is. Also, to clean those 18 "threats" you have to have the pay version, and as things stand now I'm somewhat scared of entering my credit card number even into a secure website.
I'm running WindowsXP on a Dell Thanks-for-calling-India Dimension.
Any one have any suggestions?
