Saturday
« on: May 02, 2009, 09:49:09 AM »
I'm too lazy to make up something fun for the title.  :)

Anywho, I'm at the real estate office.  Luckily after an evening with Sweet Dee, I don't have a hangover.

My plans for today include sitting here until 5, then a little straightening up of the house before my usual Saturday evening activities.

On a positive note, I made it to NY & Company yesterday for some shopping.  While they did have a few ruffled items, they had a ton of non-ruffled stuff.  Everything in the store is buy one get the 2nd 1/2 off, plus on top of that I had a 30% off coupon.  I "saved" $92 on my purchases.  I made it out of there with 3 dress shirts, 1 blouse, 1 cute light sweater, 2 necklaces with matching earrings for only $123.  I was vera vera happy.

The spin cycle on the washing machine is not working.  I just hand wrung a small load a laundry to stick it in the dryer  :bawl:

All sorts of little errands scheduled for the day.  Rain is expected. Tonight I'm going bowling for my friend's boyfriend's birthday, so that should be fun, even though I suck at bowling.

I thought of Sigmund Freud first thing this morning.  I woke up and my bed was crowded.  Three dogs, a wife, and a granddaughter lie scattered among the six pillows, top sheet, blanket, and a folded comforter hanging sideways off the cliff for dear life.  We must have had a thunderstorm while I slept.

I deserved to sleep.  I was up in the middle of the night repairing a toilet.  Nothing major.  The chain from the tank ball had come disconnected from the flush handle.  Still, the actual task of having to remove a toilet tank lid - heavy, fragile, unpleasantly and distinctly noisy, scratchy underneath - in the middle of slumber time, demands respect.  I'm a hero.

I'm off to spend some money.  I need to see if the sheet metal is ready for my car, and I think I'll go ahead and buy that transmission that I was supposed to pick up last week.  And there's the always-popular rent.

Yay.

Going to the gym here in a bit. Kentucky Derby and boxing (Hatton vs. Pacquiao) tonight! Maybe 2 or 3 beers too.

Gorgeous day here today.

Cleaning the house a tad and then the Mancub has a buddy coming over for a sleep over tonight.

Worked at the poker room until midnight last night, stopped off for A beer at the watering hole, didn't have more because last call was at 12:30.  Got home, slept until 9 (interrupted to let the dog out at 6), cleaned the house top to bottom including washing windows.  Paid bills, last load of laundry in the dryer.  Optometrist appointment in an hour, where I'm sure I'm going to be told I need bifocals.

Growing old sucks.  That is all.

That's true.  Which is why I was lucky enough not to need bifocals, according to the optometrist, just a mild magnification of reading glasses.  My near vision used to be 20/15.  Now it's bordering on 20/20-20/25, which is why I'm noticing it.

My distant vision still sucks though, sad to say.  At least the insurance took care of about 80 percent of the cost of the glasses and exam.

I went for a nice jog, went to a relatives birthday bash for a bit, than partied like a rockstar with my niece at a bounce house.  Headed home, and called it a night.  I can run or bike for miles on end, but can't keep up with a 5 year old bouncing her heart away  :thatsright:  :lmao:
