President Obama said he enjoys being chief executive but doesn’t want to run businesses.

During a Wednesday night news conference marking his 100th day in office, Obama said he wanted “to disabuse people of this notion that somehow we enjoy, you know, meddling in the private sector.”

“If you could tell me right now that when I walked into this office that the banks were humming, that autos were selling and that all you had to worry about was Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, getting health care passed, figuring out how to deal with energy independence, deal with Iran and a pandemic flu, I would take that deal,” Obama said.

Obama was responding to a question noting that the U.S. government had become the top shareholder in several financial companies and may become the top shareholder in an automaker or two. What kind of shareholder would the government be?

“Our first role should be shareholders that are looking to get out,” he said. “You know, I don’t want to run auto companies. I don’t want to run banks. The sooner we can get out of that business, the better off we’re going to be.”

For a guy who claims not to enjoy it he seems to be delving into it more than a junkie who just found a 50-lb bag of crack.

If Uncle Eg0 has his way, there will be no private sector.  It will all be government run, thus no more meddling in the private sector will be possible.

Translation, "I am totally unprepared to deal with anything else that comes up.  Nobody said there would be more.  This just isn't fair.  Sniff.  I "inherited" all that other cr*p, so I was just gonna blame it on Boooosh, but all this happened on my watch.  Now what do I do?"
