Anyone else remember Till Tuesday?

My daughter woke up with some pretty severe pain in her neck and shoulders.  Scurried her back to bed with some tylenol and waiting to see if it helps.

Spring is here.  Trees are budding and the grass has greened up with all the thunderstorms. Me like-um! :-)

Doing some work on a few projects today and starting to think about tackling either the basement or the garage for Spring Cleaning. :p

Hope your daughter feels better, asdf.  Last time mine woke up with neck/shoulder pain, she passed out when I was trying to rub the knot out.  I don't recommend that!

Nice day here today.  Not quite as hot, but still close to 90.  Baseball game for the older boy tonight.

One kitty is home.  Still waiting on the other, the big 'ole orange tom cat.

I think it's supposed to rain here today, so that's kind of put a damper on my plans.  Guess I'll stay inside and disassemble that new cylinder head and clean everything if the weather doesn't want to cooperate.

My Little Angel is here with me.  She's been here since Friday evening.  She is very sick.  High fever, croopy cough, horrible headaches....bad stuff.  I don't know what is going on.  It seems every kid I know is sick right now.

I hope your little one gets better.

Ate something which did NOT disagree with me.  Called in sick in between barfing bouts at 5:30 this morning, and promptly went back to bed.

Am now dealing with CVS, who has "lost" my prescription renewal, and I'm OUT until they ship.

Sounds like the Swine Flu

I took her to see her doctor yesterday.  She was seen by the physician's assistant who told me Little Angel has all the symptoms of a "viral cold" going around.  The Swine Flu never came up.

I found the choice of phrase "viral cold" to be odd.  Is there a "bacterial cold" and I don't know it?

Bacteria and virus are two different little demons.....and require different meds.

I'm on an anti-viral Rx with the chicken pox because it's a virus, rather than an anti-biotic which fights bacteria.
That's about the extent of my knowledge....except I do know that the med has to be anti-viral to work on a virus and antibiotic to work on the bacteria. The med won't work on the opposite one, which is why the drs run tests to determine whether it's a virus or bacteria.

Many people still think that antibiotics help when they have a cold, but they don't.

True, not directly; they would keep you from catching an opportunistic bacterial infection while your resistance was down, though.  I've gotten a double whammy like that twice in my life.

I am well aware of all that.  My point is ALL common colds are viral.  Calling it a "viral cold" is technically correct, but it would leave one with lesser knowledge to think there is other kinds of colds.  Sort of like, "Hey, has anyone seen my hollow shoes?"

I think I'm getting better. Finally.

Good day. Got my government test back from last week with an 89. Class average was a 67...

Took a test in philosophy over Machiavelli's The Prince. Got a 97... I wonder if this says something about me, what with getting low 80's on Plato and Aristotle...

Now just getting dressed for an SVA reception at 5.
