I heard that when Richard Nixon had resigned and was on his last flight on AF1, they had to use a civilian call sign.

I heard that too... something 27000 or the like

You know, I've never photoshopped much - mostly cropping - but I bet that I could whip up a picture of Air Force One with the Statue of Liberty within an hour and do it without burning an ounce of jet fuel or scaring the crap out of a million people.  I mean, seriously.  It's the ****ing 21st Century!  The digital age!  If the left-stream media can fake TANG memos and photos from the Middle East, then the White House can fake a picture of AF1 and the Statue of Liberty.

This is beyond stupid; it's cruel. And the photo op excuse doesn't make any sense. Who in the heck needs a photo of AF1 by the Statue of Liberty anyway?

Apparently, Obama does.  He strikes me as the most self-indulgent, spoiled kind of person.  There's nothing noble or special about this guy... he's a pure phony, just like Clinton was.  The only difference between him and Clinton was that Bill didn't require a teleprompter to spew his bullshit.

On earth day wasn't he whining and wimpering about the danger of greenhouse gases?

He flew 900 miles to spew that nonsense and consumed 9,000 gallons of jet fuel in the process, not to mention the amount of fuel Marine One consumed.

Now he's got air force one flying around NYC for a photo op.

He did accomplish one thing -- he has people scared to death just seeing air force one flying towards them.

City , state and local authorities knew?  Why the hell didn't they tell everyone else?

That paints a dire picture of how much fore-warning they will give people about a genuine emergency. Heck, the feds are saying we have nothing to fear from the swine flu, never mind the fact that it is spreading and can mutate into a strain with a higher mortality rate.

They were really on a secret mission.....scoping out where the new "OBAMA" will be put to replace the Statue of Liberty.

....and the new inscription will go something like this....

Follow me you muddled masses
While I scam your sorry asses
I'll take and take what I need
But you I'll forget to feed
So gather at my stinking feet
Your sorry butt I need to beat

"And spread the wealth around"
HA.... Did I look like a fool, turkeys?????

I'm surprised the FAA approved the flyby.  New Yorkers were not happy the last time it
happened.  I was on this plane.

Flight bringing troops home stirs fear over NYC

Thursday, May 15, 2003 Posted: 4:16 AM EDT (0816 GMT)

NEW YORK (CNN) -- The FAA said it would no longer allow overflights of Manhattan after a charter jet carrying troops home from the war with Iraq flew low over the skyline Wednesday, stirring fears that another terror attack was under way.
"The FAA regrets any negative effect this flight had on some New York City residents. The FAA has since issued an order that future, similar requests will not be granted," the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement late Wednesday.

Continental Airlines Flight 3021, bringing military personnel back from Operation Iraqi Freedom, buzzed the skyline around 8:30 a.m., flying near the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan, where the twin towers of the World Trade Center were destroyed in the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

The FAA said the pilots of the plane had requested the fly-by and it was approved "to provide a special homecoming for members of our armed forces." It said such requests had been approved in the past for troops coming to and from the Afghanistan war theater.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg blasted the FAA for allowing the flight.

"Considering the world we live in and New York City's recent history, one would expect a little more concern, sensitivity and notice from the FAA when they authorize a plane to fly at that altitude over lower Manhattan," he said in a statement.

Some pics I took that day.

One of Gobb's most idiotic moments....."uh, uh, uh, I was working on something else."  Sounds like when an incompetent lower level flunky gets called on the carpet, right before his firing.

This sorry-ass incident shows how dangerous stupidity and arrogance can be in combo.  "We won, so we get to do whatever the hell we want.  So there."

Is it me or is there a growing sense of hostility that Gibble has with the media.  He frequently gets defensive with them.  Makes me laugh that they can fluster him so easily.

Give credit where it is due.  This administration has shook hands with our enemies, insulted our friends, bowed to muslim royalty, and terrorized American citizens into running for cover, while screaming "Oh God!".  That's quite an accomplishment.

All this in a mere 100 days.  Come November 2010, I challenge you to find ANYONE who will still claim they voted for this mouth-breather.

Gibbs doesn't have the tact of Dana Perino.  He knows it and it scares him.  He's terrified of the media and what they might think of dear leader.  The media knows it also...I can't wait for them to get tired of him and start giving him hell up there.  In other words, he's a flunkie!

On Thursday night, city officials say, a junior mayoral aide had been alerted to the flyover by the Federal Aviation Administration, which requested that it be kept secret. Someone in City Hall alerted the New York Police Department, but no public announcement was made.

Marc Mugnos was reprimanded for not apprising the mayor, and a disciplinary letter was placed in his file, a spokesman said. Mr. Mugnos couldn't be reached for comment.
