There never were 180 waterboardings
« on: April 26, 2009, 12:35:28 AM »
Quote
A Corner exclusive: How many times have you read and heard in the mainstream media that terrorists were waterboarded more than 180 times?

It turns out that’s not true. What is?

According to two sources, both of them very well-informed and reliable (but preferring to remain anonymous), the 180-plus times refers not to sessions of waterboarding, but to “pours” — that is, to instances of water being poured on the subject.

Under a strict set of rules, every pour of water had to be counted — and the number of pours was limited.

Also: Waterboarding interrogation sessions were permitted on no more than five days within any 30-day period.

No more than two sessions were permitted in any 24-hour period.

A session could last no longer than two hours.

There could be at most six pours of water lasting ten seconds or longer — and never longer than 40 seconds — during any individual session.

Water could be poured on a subject for a combined total of no more than 12 minutes during any 24 hour period.

You do the math.

Fake, but accurate?  Fake, but who cares as long as the Bush Crime Family (and Dick Cheney) are frogmarched in front of the Hague?

We should never have waterboarded KSM.

Los Angeles isn't worth the waste of clean water on a hajji's face.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

What's lost on the DUmmies is that we follow a strict code down to NUMBER OF MINUTES a subject can be "poured". Everything is thought out and tightly controlled. We play by a rulebook against an enemy who has none. They don't get it. At all.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

The only thing that the DUmmies get is that the US is evil.

Hi,

Didn't Cheney say on the Hannity show that all of three detainees were waterboarded?  Only three.  I go the impression that one of the three disclosed the data about the planned attack on Los Angeles but could be wrong on that.  Maybe someone else who saw the interview can help me out.

Hi,

Thank you for the post.  I just really got into it on another board.  No THEY DO NOT GET IT, not in the least.

When is someone on our side other than the talk show hosts and Cheney going to start screaming that there was absolutely no good reason to even release the data or bring it up?  The entire purpose was political, to discredit Bush and to take the pressure off BO's communist agenda.  While we argue and defend the past they are planning to sneak though one disaster of a health care bill without any debate.

Of course the cost to the American people is that our national security is totally threatened by their politics and they could care less.  The argument I had on the other thread was stupid.  The person saw absolutely no threat to our national security if the data was released despite the fact that every past CIA director, plus the current one told the administration no to do it.   A former CIA director said this morning on Fox that we are inviting another 9/11.  I am beginning to wonder if that is what BO wants for crying out loud!

There is no cure for dumb other than to get smart ourselves, get our party straightened out and get these clowns outta here before they can do anymore damage.

Sorry for the rant but your post really struck a nerve.

regards,
5412

5412 - you are correct on all counts. Pretty scary stuff isn't it? I shudder to think what the real motivations are....

I heard someone say they actually only waterboarded 3 subjects and it led to stop a terror attack in LA.

Ten waterboarding sessions each?  Sounds reasonable to me. :p

the man-bird-pig flu is a reminder that the BFEE is still in charge and are the ones running the show.  They just want you to THINK Dick Cheney is retired. :tinfoil2:
