Happy Saturday!
« on: April 25, 2009, 07:15:39 AM »
Well, I got up at 5:30, got dressed, made it to school before 7 to find out we're meeting at 8am now.  So I have a bit of time to spare.

After I'm done with this, I'm contemplating whether I want to head to the mall and get it over with, or just go home and take a nap.  I'm thinking nap will win out in the end.

School on a Saturday?  Blasphemous!

Baseball today, as usual.  Both games are at 2, but at the same complex at least.  Guess we'll be doing lots of wandering back and forth!  Pictures before the game.

After that, I believe we'll have some extra teenagers for the afternoon, evening, so I'll need to feed them.  Thinking tacos, but not sure yet.

No, not class.  We're going to the airport to welcome home troops from Iraq & Afghanistan.  Last night the flight was arriving at 8am and we meet here an hour beforehand, this morning of course I didn't check the time, but it was pushed back to 9am arrival.

And for the tacos:   :II:

Who doesn't love tacos?  A damn commie is who.   :-)

Rock on Mia! How did it go?

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I slept in till 10 this morning. :)

I watched "Quarantine", "Righteous Kill" and "The Score" last night.

Raining like a sonnavagun outside right now. Thunderstorms predicted all this coming week.  The puppers is a riot. Everytime it thunders she produces this amazingly low deep growl followed by a little warning "Wurf!".

I've never heard her growl before. :-)

I have a big stock pot with marrow and neck bones cooking down for dinner soup tonight.  It seems like that kind of day.  I'll get some dough together in a bit and set it to rise for dinner rolls.

At some point my lovely bride will be returning from the wilds of Minnersoda today as well.

There were 178 soldiers coming home today.  I think they started coming out of customs around 10ish, the flight is direct from Kuwait.    There were a lot of people there, I would guess.  There was a bunch of Girl Scouts giving out cookies to the soldiers.  There were a bunch of Cub & Boy Scouts there too.  Lots of cheering and clapping and thank yous and welcome homes.

We went to breakfast afterward and I just got home.

Now, it's nap time.

Was going to spend some quality time with dear ol' Dad this morning at the gun show. When we got to the fairgrounds, the lines were insane and the cars and people still kept coming.

We realized that we were each about to spend $13 to get into a show that wouldn't have any ammo or supplies. People who must have gotten there hours earliers were already carrying out ammo by the truck load. Thanks so much, President Obama.  :censored:

So instead we went home and had a good hour-long chat about politics, health, and what not.

Still a good morning although I'm having a flare-up of serious Obama hatred.

Good thing I'm going to church tonight. LOL. And then I'm going to attempt a new turkey meatloaf recipe for din din.

One junkyard down, two to go.  Dammit, it's hot outside.  85° and not a cloud for miles.

Thirsty. :(

Obama did stimilute the economy when it came to gun & ammo manufacturing! My friends that work for Springfield, Armalite & Lewis are getting all the overtime they want to work!

Cloudy & warm in south Louisiana. The internet repairman from AT&T came out this am and told me what the problem was. I need a new phone jack.

Started packing to go to the beach tomorrow for 5 days. One day I might buy a vacation home or Condo. in Orange Beach AL.

Hey thank you for this!

It's fantastic! :)

Next time you're in Dallas on vacation you should do it.  They even make sure your parking is free.  :)

Whew.  Long hot day at the ball-field!  My little guy did fantastic today...pitched all three kid-pitch innings (they do 3 kid pitch and 3 machine pitch), only threw 45 pitches.  They won 7-1.   My older son was 4 for 4 hitting today, but they lost.  All in all a good day!

BTW, I highly recommend  the midnight truffle blizzard from Dairy Queen!

I came home with a sunburn and my car is running like shit, but I had a pretty good day.  Got a new cylinder head and put a deposit down on a new transmission.

And if you're Obama, you fly the cook from the Santa Ana Tacos Mexico to the White House on a private jet to make 20 tacos for a dinner, then jump on the teleprompter whilst CNN/MSNBC/ABC/NBC/CBS swoons as you lecture the "little people" about fiscal responsibility and cap and trade.
