Miss Mia's Happy Hour Spankyouverymuch
« on: April 24, 2009, 08:26:42 PM »
Okay, day started off good.  After work I went to Kohl's to look for some dress shirts.  Oh HOLY CRAP!  Apparently "they" decided that ruffles are in style.  RUFFLES!  In a little over an hour, I found 1, ONE!, shirt that was some what suitable, but I'm not that happy with it and a pair of shoes.

Now, tomorrow I have to go to Penny's which means the dreaded freaking mall.  THE MALL!

Oh I'm dreading it.  I haven't been to the mall in years.

Seriously?  Ruffles.  That's all I gotta say.  It was horrible.  I have this thing to do in the morning, I don't know how long it will take, and then straight to the mall.

I like being a girl.  I just don't like ruffles.  I like more simple and classic clothing.

I love Kohl's and Penneys. But I'm with you! I want to meet the ghey fashion designer who decided that some of these crazy getups are in style!! You can either choose from the following I've noticed: Cheesy Junior wear that's in horribly loud colors with crazy sayings on it (I call this the Prostitot Look), Matronly Mother in Law stuff with elastic in the waistband, or somewhat decent looking outfits that are made for a 89lb giraffe. LOL! Ah, life at under five feet is so fun!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

This is why I like being a guy. We can get by with khakis and a button down. Or a suit, if we have to dress up.

All I want are some simple button down long sleeved dress shirts.  Black, white with stripes or blue (royal or navy).  That's what I'm looking for, and apparently impossible.  I'm gonna go to Penneys and New York & Company.  They had a lot of peachish orangeish stuff today.  :(

Yeah.  The shirt I have on today is the shirt I wore to my younger daughter's wedding rehearsal in May 1999, 'cept it had long sleeves then.

It's for my impending interview and for my final presentation in my management class.  It's best that I dress more conservatively for both.  :)  I purchased a very nice Banana Republic black A-line suiting skirt already.

I'm looking for a simple button down.   :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Oh, and I'll be getting up at 5:30 tomorrow morning, so by the time I make it to the mall I'll be sleepy and pissy.  It'll be fun for me AND everyone there.   :-)

I WAS a Mall kinda girl....but something happened 3 or 4 years ago.  Now I dread it.

I also like classic type clothing that never goes out of style...I was never into fads...I might buy a fad accessory...but I stay pretty simple in dress.

If I had to pick from those two, I'd say New York & Company would be your best bet.  I've bought an interview outfit there a time or two (nice jacket and a cute button-up dress shirt to go with some NY&C dress pants I already owned.  I have to stay away from that place, though... I love their clothes. :p

I used to be a mall girl myself... worshipped at the altar that is the Mall of Georgia. But I'm flat broke now, so no more mall fun for me. :(
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

I like New York & Company, I've bought a lot of clothes there.  I'll head there first.  I'm checking out their website now, looks very promising.  :)

Fracking sweet. I went and grabbed a book off my bookshelf and saw that I had put a bookmark in there the last time I started reading it. Opened it up and it turned out to be a $100 savings bond from over 2 years ago.  :hyper:

This is a good thing because I paid my last tuition payment today and only had about $20 until May sometime when I get my GI Bill payment.

Cool. I once found a $100 bill sitting in a mud puddle outside my bank one day.  It was after midnight and nobody was around, so I kept it.  Spent just fine after it dried out.

That's weird, I lost a $100 bill outside of the bank one rainy day.  :p :p

Hey...I was at Kohls last night, too!  Looking for something to wear to the Gala at SERBA in a couple weeks.  Epic fail.  But I did find a pair of capris and shorts that I liked.  I must have tried on 50 things.   Good news...I'm down 1-2 sizes, depending on the brand!

Also got $20 bucks on Kohls bucks to go spend next week!
