Off Friday!
« on: April 24, 2009, 06:39:26 AM »
Celebrating (for lack of a better word) my second-to-last off Friday before reverting back to the "normal" 8-hour schedule in mid-May.

Currently 45, but on the way up to 70 with a high tomorrow of 80!  Yay!

Soaked the bushes I bought last night so I can plant them today along with a few strawberry plants I'll go hunt down later this morning.  Maybe even a tree or two if I can find them at a decent price.

Then it's off to the poker room for another fun-filled night (well, other people have fun, anyway) of dealing to people who don't know how to play.

What's new with the rest of the CC clan?

Supposed to be gorgeous here today....mid 70's, then 80's for the next few days!

I'm picking my daughter up from school, and then heading about 60 miles up the road to the dance store...she needs new pointe shoes, and decided she wants a different brand, so I have to go have her fit, instead of just ordering them on-line.  Joy.  I love spending $80 bucks on shoes to last 3 months, if I'm lucky!  Not to mention everything else she'll deicde she "needs" when she's in the store!

Before that I plan on taking the pups for a nice walk.

Have a report to finish, then I think I'm heading out in search of something to make a little area in my garden for a bench.

Haven't found a bench yet that I really like, that is sturdy and doesn't cost a fortune - less than $75. Found one for $50...til I watched someone sit on it.  :o Sitting out in the weather, it wouldn't take long to collapse. May end up going with just a little concrete bench.

M is nagging at me to get the azaleas planted that I bought to surround it. Haven't exactly been running around and about this week! arghhhh.  :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Weather is to be bee-u-ti-ful! Looks like it could cloud up and rain, but not according to the weather person.

About 48 right now, with 68 expected this afternoon.

We had a pretty significant layoff yesterday (my team went from 18 to 14, and my former team lost 7 people)  so we have an all office meeting today to discuss how things are going to change with fewer people.  Things had felt a little off for a couple of day, with an odd tension, and managers having lots of closed door meetings, so some of us thought that maybe something was going to happen, but I don't think that most of thought we would lose so many people.

Here it cooled off to the 60's, and south of me (Donner Summit) it's snowing. Supposed to nice this weekend.

I've been having a very busy week.  Today, I think things have slowed down.  Last night I was so exhausted I fell asleep by 7:30pm.  I made it to the bottom of the second inning in the Dodgers/Astro game.

Tonight I'm gonna do a bunch of nothing I believe.  This weekend I need to do a little yard work.  I hate yard work.  Also I need to go shopping for some "business professional" stuff.  I need a few button down dress shirts.  I got a cute skirt from Banana Republic the other day.

All in all, things are falling into place very nicely.  :)

I think I gave up on the game in the 6th...

Any news on a new job yet?

Good luck!

I've got my answer to "why are you looking to leave your current job" answer down and it's not "my boss is a bitch."   :uhsure:

And I got invited to go out by the cute guy at the bank to celebrate his birthday tomorrow.  I'm going to stop by for a little bit before heading over to my friend's house for the usual Saturday night gathering.

It's in the 80's and sunny here! :)

Mancub is leaving from school for a sleepover with a friend tonight and my better half is in Minnesota for some professional thing till tomorrow.  Just me and Little Kid-A tonight.  I think I'll grill some meat for us.

I'm headed off to the park here in a tad to try out the new Chuckit for the puppers and see how she handles the pond for the first time. Towels are coming along and I expect much hilarity.

It's warm out but windy. Strong gusts often.

I'm headed to work in a little bit. Work is busy.

My pharmacist tonight is from Las Vegas, she is smart, young & cute. We will have fun tonight at work.

Yesterday one of my pharmaicsts was also from Las Vegas, and she was also young, smart & cute.

I like young, smart & cute girls that make $70 an hour.  :evillaugh:

THAT was FUN!!!!

I ran the puppy ragged chasing the ball and then started angling them so that they landed a foot or two out in the pond. She jumped right in after them with no hesitation.  The first one that landed four feet out, she jumped in and was swimming like a pro!  We stopped when I effed up and pitched one halfway out into the pond.  :thatsright:  She went padddling out there and the whole time I'm like, "Pepper!  Come on back pup!" LOL!

I got her coaxed back sans chuckit ball.  She started to flounder a little bit at the end so we wrapped it up and came home.  She's CRASHED on the floor right now.  Her little 6 month old muscles got a good workout.

Born Retriever though. :)

Home from work... I got a BONUS with my paycheck today... woot! We all got one, based on the recent inventory the store performed.  I got $180, along with my paycheck... took home a pretty good haul, even with the lovely bonus tax that was inflicted (I find it to be BS that bonuses must be taxed more than a regular paycheck... a co-worker says they shouldn't be taxed at all... I AGREE!) .

I'm going to take a nap now...

...
I always hated that question at interviews.

Many years ago, my company went through a reorganization.  The doofus in charge decided it would be a good idea for all of us to interview for our present jobs.   :mental:  I was asked where I wanted to see myself in 5 years and nearly choked to not say "dancing on your grave".   :uhsure:
