Whoa. I saw that and was freaked out as a kid but had forgotten it entirely till watching it just now. Actually I didn't recognise it until the film started to unspool. WTH was that flick anyway, lol? That thing really needs some Crow and Tom Servo treatment.

That was shown on HBO between movies back in the 70s and early 80s. There were several others, but this is the only one that I remember.

Ahh, OK thanks. I remember HBO when it came in a box.  :-) (and played the same 6 movies every day for a month lol)

When I was real litlle, the flying monkeys in Wizard of OZ scared the crap outta me.   When I got older, pretty much anything in the horror genre....still don't like them.

My daughter, wierdo...the singing alligator/croc in All Dogs Go to Heaven gave her nightmares for weeks.  And when she was 3 ish, she had nightmare whenever we went to the zoo.
Oh, yeah!  I'd forgotten...they scared me, too.  Not as bad as dinosaurs, but I always had to leave the room when those flying monkeys came on.   :-)

Not really a movie but that little voodoo puppet in
Karen Black's "Trilogy of Terror" gave me nightmares
for a very long time.

Especially the way it ended with her sitting in front of the door stabbing the floor with the big knife.

Amityville Horror! My aunt thought it wouldn't be a big deal to take me to see that instead of The Muppets. I'm still traumatized :-)

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

That one and It's Alive scared the crap out of me without ever seeing them.  Just the advertisements alone were enough.  Alien too, come to think of it.

The 1970's had all kinds of scary movie ads although when I did see some of the movies years later they weren't very good, like The Town that Dreaded Sundown seemed not as good as the advertisement.

It's Alive scared the crap out of me too. I wasn't suppose to see it and I didn't tell my mom. The night I saw it I had a nightmare and woke up screaming. My mom ran into my room asking me what was wrong. I told her about seeing the movie and she told me I deserved to be scared and went back to bed. Then I kept yelling, "I'm thinking about it...I'm thinking about it" until she let me come sleep with her.

I saw it on cable a couple of years ago. It was so stupid.

the Exorcist and Jaws

The scariest movie music ever has to be the theme from Suspiria.  I found a nice video but I fear it is too graphic to post.

Second I think might be The Exorcist because a lot stuff in that movie is subliminal.  I saw it for the last time when they did The Version You've Never Seen around 2000 and I was impressed with how the images don't really make any sense except for the soundtrack.  The first half of that movie isn't even a horror movie, it's like a very intense after school special.

Jaws, while a great movie, never really scared me.  I lived near Lake Michigan and there aren't any sharks in there.  But I do remember being scared that Humanoids from the Deep might have sneaked into our swimming pool during the night like the water bugs did waiting to eat us in the morning.

While I remember when Evil Dead came out, I didn't see it until after Evil Dead 2.  Evil Dead 2 really freaked me out and most of it was just the visual style, I had never seen anything like it before.

From The Shining, the two ghost girls who confront little Danny in the hallway is super creepy. Having kids in horror movies always makes them extra horror-y. Maybe even too creepy for the lounge so I brought robot version instead, lol.

redrum! Yep The Shining was scary.

The first movie I saw that scared the crap out of me was In Cold Blood. I am sure I must have been 9 or 10 when I saw it. I don't get to creeped out by anything anymore, though I did think the last Batman movie was disturbing.

Queer how Robert Blake ended his career pretty much as he started it., well not really, I guess he started as one of the Little Rascals.
