AP Poll: Americans high on Obama, direction of US
« on: April 23, 2009, 07:03:18 AM »
Quote
WASHINGTON – For the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is headed in the right direction, a sign that Barack Obama has used the first 100 days of his presidency to lift the public's mood and inspire hopes for a brighter future.
Intensely worried about their personal finances and medical expenses, Americans nonetheless appear realistic about the time Obama might need to turn things around, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll. It shows most Americans consider their new president to be a strong, ethical and empathetic leader who is working to change Washington.
Nobody knows how long the honeymoon will last, but Obama has clearly transformed the yes-we-can spirit of his candidacy into a tool of governance. His ability to inspire confidence — Obama's second book is titled "The Audacity of Hope" — has thus far buffered the president against the harsh political realities of two wars, a global economic meltdown and countless domestic challenges.
"He presents a very positive outlook," said Cheryl Wetherington, 35, an independent voter who runs a chocolate shop in Gardner, Kan. "He's very well-spoken and very vocal about what direction should be taken."

Are people really this stupid?
Strong is not apologizing to every country in the world for the US.
Ethical is not appointing criminals to run the country.
Empathetic is not having policies which will drive up the cost of living for everyone as his energy policy will do.

This is just more media starch for the empty suit.  "More Americans than not", yeah sure.  I suppose April 15th didn't happen.

I agree. Rush was talking about this yesterday. The MSM will prop this guy up no matter what happens to this country. They have to because they helped him get elected.

If the Republicans don't take back control of Congress in 2010, then I will believe that America really is this stupid. Until then, I will believe that polls like these are nothing more the MSM tools to keep Obammy's messiah image going.

Id say the backlash from this is going to be delicious. Remember, I come from the state with Obama V1.0beta as Governor - The media has done nothing but prop him up for the last couple of years, and now his falling numbers are about to reach terminal velocity.

It so bad, that Massachusetts residents would like to have Romney back - And The Commonwealth is the bluest of blue states.

So, chin up - If the Democrats don't learn from this mistake (and you can bet they won't) Im certain Obama RC1.1 will follow his small-scale prototype right down the toilet.

I want to see the poll questions.

I bet they are loaded as all get out.

Im sure they are total push-poll

Q. would you support the policies of hope and change from our forward looking leader, or do you prefer the darkness and sorrow brought by the former adminsitration ?

Q. If Obama was Shakira, and George Bush was an STD infested whore, who would you rather sleep with ?

etc etc etc.

This was on the front page of the AOL homepage today...I couldn't help but laugh.

As for people being that stupid...they did vote for the ****wad in November...so yeah, they can potentially be that stupid.
