Emanuel Says Obama Insists On Implementing Two State Solution, No Ifs, Ands, or Buts

Rahm Emanuel told an (unnamed) Jewish leader; "In the next four years there is going to be a permanent status arrangement between Israel and the Palestinians on the basis of two states for two peoples, and it doesn't matter to us at all who is prime minister."

He also said that the United States will exert pressure to see that deal is put into place."Any treatment of the Iranian nuclear problem will be contingent upon progress in the negotiations and an Israeli withdrawal from West Bank territory," the paper reports Emanuel as saying. In other words, US sympathy for Israel's position vis a vis Iran depends on Israel's willingness to live up to its commitment to get out of the West Bank and permit the establishment of a Palestinian state there, in Gaza, and East Jerusalem.

Yedioth also reports that Obama is conveying his displeasure with the new Israeli government in several ways. "US administration officials informed Netanyahu that President Obama will not be able to meet with him in early May, while the AIPAC conference is held in Washington. The meeting between the new Israeli premier and the president of the United States is perceived in Israel as a sign that the formation process of the new government has been completed and as a salutation by Israel's close friend. Netanyahu had hoped to capitalize on the opportunity and to meet with Obama during the annual AIPAC conference, but the Americans informed the Israelis that Obama was not going to be 'in town.' That being the case, the inclination among Netanyahu's aides is to cancel his trip to attend the AIPAC conference and to try to secure a date for a meeting with Obama later in May.

"Sources in Washington also said that the Obama administration would not continue the tradition that developed during the Bush administration of hosting Israeli premiers many times during the year, sometimes with just a phone call's advance notice."

Dear Mods, this has been posted in I/P but I'm posting it here because it signals a MAJOR shift in U.S. foreign policy and deserves wider readership.

For those here who are unaware, primitive cali is a well known Jew hater.

OK, does someone really want to try and convice me that the USA's willingness to back Israel regarding the Iranian nuclear issue "will be contingent upon progress in the negotiations and an Israeli withdrawal from West Bank territory?"  B. Hussein is a total clod, but even he knows that would be political suicide.

Mark it down:  In 4 years, there will NOT be a permanent status arrangement between Israel and the Palestinians on the basis of two states for two peoples.

From my POV, this is a major signal to Iran of the paper tiger, "please don't hurt us," weak-kneed position that inspired these militant Islamics to become emboldened in the first place.

Of course, the primitives (who are complaining that those who went to the Tea Parties were duped) are duped by their blind allegance to their false messiah.

4. and that the message is being delivered by Rahm Emanuel is not only smart as hell, it's done in the inimicable Rahm style. I lot of folks here thought he was AIPAC's man in the White House. I always knew he was Obama's man in the White House. That's the damn chief of staff telling them how it will be.

8. We finally have a real President

President Obama is front and center taking on every thorny issue and trying to get the mess cleaned up at every level, both foreign and domestic. That's why I love this guy so much.

The Jew haters speak from the DUmp.  I saw nothing about any cease fire, nothing of any concession on the part of Palestinians.  Maybe this 0Bama and his merry band of fools should just tell the Mid East to work it out.  That would be less harmful to Israel, but would result in lots of dead Muslim radicals, you know , the good kind.

How insane does one have to be to believe our wimpy prez can make Iran's leaders do anything other than laugh in his face?

Don't answer that.

And just how the hell does the Idiot-in-Chief think he's going to pull that off? Like another sovereign nation is going to consider 0's best interest instead of their own. It's the equivalent of some pink-pantied limp-wristed San Francisco drag queen challenging Triple H.

The chance that either side will pay any attention to what Obama wants is exactly nil.

I'm with Cindie on this one.  Another nation is not going to consider the best interests of The Big Zero over the best interests of their own country.
