When a rich person personally offers me a job, maybe, just maybe, I'll change my tune.

My official count of how many times a wealthy person has come to my front door and said "Mr. ck4829, I have a job, if you'd like to take it" is...

Demand creates jobs.
Small business creates jobs.
The middle class creates jobs.

Ultra-wealthy people getting more wealthy and finding loopholes in the tax code don't create jobs.

As a small business owner I can say that since the late 90's 100% of my jobs came from people with money to invest in companies somewhat larger than mine.
No, the rich guy isn't the one who approaced me with a job, but it was his money that made is happen and still does.

Well DUH!  The jobs happen as a result of the rich starting a company to create wealth.

"I've never gotten a job from a rich person either. I've only gotten jobs from middle-class people and businesses because I have IT skills that they wanted to pay for in order to grow their business." Rich people didn't want my skills. They wanted cleaning ladies, gardeners, chauffeurs and cheap help for the unskilled jobs.

Rich people don't hire people into good jobs. They do look for people to take menial jobs.

FGL, July 4th was the original idea, but people couldn't wait that long, so the grassroots came up with 4/15.  7/4 is on a Saturday. 

Anyway, the middle class are the ones who create jobs according to them?  I'm middle class.  I may be able to afford a cleaning lady now and then, or some remodel work if I've saved up.  Am I going to provide a high-powered, high-benefits job for "someone?"   What the hell are they thinking?

Yes, and big businesses too...lots of them.

It's what makes them--you know--BIG.

The middle class creates jobs.

Because they been hired and paid by businesses both big and small who used their investment capital to fill demands.

And since you seem to have such a hard-on of hate for big business is there a point where a small business owner should be impeded/punished for his success to keep him from crossing the threshold from small to big?

What a myth.

Even if that were true what does it matter? As long as a job is created what difference does it matter the employer's motive? If I give $100 to a charity for the tax deduction and someone else gives $100 simply to be a Samaritan, the charity still has $200. Should people stop accepting jobs if the motives of the employer aren't altruistic? Should charities have donors fill out a questionnaire and only accept donations from those with leftist approved motives? That would REALLY harm charities since conservatives give more than liberals.

Part of his problem is that he expects mr richie rich to come to his door and knock. Last I checked you actually had to apply with companies(or individual business owners) who started those businesses with capital--you know...assets and such: things that give someone a net worth or what we'd term as 'rich' if they have enough of it. Those people generally only look to their applications to fill positions because they want someone actually interested in, well you know, working.

We all know why that is, Cindie. Liberals judge based on good intentions instead of results. The community organizer who creates nothing but hassles and headaches, but has 'good intentions' is far more noble then a business owner interested in profit and building a business who creates jobs to meet his business needs and employs half the community.

What contractor? It was my B-I-L's brother. It was mostly family members helping out, but I got paid since it was my summer vacation, and I was there every day when the owner was there working.

ETA: He was a small farmer and far from being rich.

Mr Rich didn't knock on my door either.  I went to school, got certified in my field, assembled a resume and when on a job interview.  Miraculously, I got hired.  BUT, I had to show up everyday and on time in order to keep it.

My Vietnam Veteran, retired US Army CW3 boss is rich as hell. .....and I hope he makes MORE money even though he supports the f'n idiot in office. Why? He makes money, I stay gainfully employed.
