Report from the other side of the planet: Bush hatred alive and well.

My wife and have been travelling for the last week, and are now on Koh Tao, Thailand. Today we encountered our first American, at a beachfront bar that is popular with British ex-pats. The bartender was a Brit, kind of a welcome relief after a week of pointing, gesturing, and generally mangling the local tongue.

The bartender heard us talking and said that he used to go months without seeing any Americans, but over the last couple of years he's seen more and more of us. Then said "It's that ****ing Bush! He's destroyed the world, people are just getting out to see it while they still can!"

The other American guy said "If I'm going to watch all my money disappear, at least I'd rather do it this way! (travelling)."

I couldn't agree more.

The racist babbling sister primitive, who thinks "darky" and "pickaninny" and "Sambo" and "blackface" "toys" are "cute":

1. Lucky you!

I know what the prevailing wisdom was, but am hopeful that will be changing, finally.

Have fun, and watch that hot food.

You know, Sigmund Freud would find this telling:

One gets the impression richboy Playboy Pedro thinks the Thais should speak to suit him, as it's such a dreary onerous task for richboy Playboy Pedro to understand them himself.

If that's not racism and elitism, I dunno what it is.

These DoUghbrains don't realize we REAL Americans are thrilled when the socialists/stupids of the world "hate" the US president.  It means things are on the right track.  It means I won't get my head cut off during his administration.

The comments as related by richboy have that quality of seeming made up.

I'm still however hung up by richboy's blatant racism and elitism, where he's "relieved" he doesn't have to deal with little yellow people and their language.

Well, I have never been to Thailand, (never wanted to either),but I was just in China a few weeks back on business. I have been going to Bangkok and Shanghai for years now, and NO ONE ever mentions a single thing about who the President is. I got one e-mail back after the election, from a girl who works for us, and she wanted to know if I was happy or sad about the new president. I told her SAD. She wrote back that she saw some students that were crazy for Mr. Obama, but no real business people, or people who were adults.(her words). I guess if it did happen, PP instigated it. And probably fueled it. Better than grunting at those little yellow people, I guess. What a jerk.
There is no virtue in compulsory government charity, and there is no virtue in advocating it. A politician who portrays himself as caring and sensitive because he wants to expand the government's charitable programs is merely saying that he is willing to do good with other people's money. Well, who isn't? And a voter who takes pride in supporting such programs is telling us that he will do good with his own money— if a gun is held to his head.

What utter BS! I spend almost all of my vacations in Thailand and I have never met anyone who has spoken ill of the US or our former president.  They are simply thankful we are willing to fly 24 hours to the other side of the world to spend our time and money with them.  Beautiful people and a beautiful part of the world.

You never criticize the second rate.  You always criticize Number One.  End of story.

Doesn't Thailand have a booming sex tourism industry including trips to molest underaged boys?

Atman's wife must make a lot of money.
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

Atman's wife must make a lot of money.

Ostensibly she's in "health care," probably a registered nurse or something; I never paid much attention to details about her, because she's not a personality on Skin's island, and so is entitled to privacy, as are richboy playboy Pedro's two adult sons and his daughter-in-law.

But it's eminently reasonable to assume she comes from Old Money and Much Money; richboy playboy Pedro himself is distantly related to a long-ago U.S. Senator and U.S. Attorney General, a product of the corrupt Democrat machine in Rhode Island.

I read--but alas very fast and very fleetingly--that last night (Friday night) the government of Thailand had to impose some sort of martial law somewhere in that country (a place ostensibly popular with wealthy primitives).  All the leaders of major Asian countries were to have a meeting there today (Saturday), but because of riots and somesuch, the meeting got cancelled.

If richboy playboy Pedro is anywhere near there, it might make an interesting story, but one suspects richboy playboy Pedro would, uh, distort some things and blame it all on George Bush.  (I myself have no idea what the riots are about, but suspect it has nothing to do with George Bush.)

The guy's "analyses" of events are hilarious.
