Write your relationship obituary
« on: February 14, 2008, 07:24:26 PM »
We have all had bad relationships.

Cleanse the soul and pour it all out here kids.   Then walk away from it.

Remember -- no calling hours and this will be closed casket.

All my relationships, except my current one, happened over 37 years ago.

I can't remember names or faces anymore.

When you decided to leave, I was gone

I gave you every chance
A man could want
But you decided to leave
And now I am gone
Did you think I would cry
Get drunk and ask why?
When you decided to leave
Then I was gone
I called your mama
Told her that you left
And wouldn't be back anymore
I told the baby
Daddy is not coming home
My sister sent the money
The lawyer filed the next day
Because when you leave
Then I am gone
I gave you every chance
Than any man could want
I have never known anyone
To do me quite so wrong
And now you are gone
My brother said I was lucky
I didn't get my heart broke
I was always a sensitive one
But when you decided to leave
Then I was gone.

highway

I stare at that long highway
Leading north out of town
Through this valley
Over the mountain and down

This was the road he drove
Did he cry as he left?
Did he look back or not at all?
Did he regret as he left?

The baby played quietly
As he drove away like a thief
He lied to her, lied to me
Did all he feel was relief?

 just poetry again

Whoever she was
And where ever it was
I guess I know it wasn't me.
You say that you love me
But you don't need to lie.
God I wish I was blind
Too blind to see that the love
Was no more than some game
No, don't tell me her name
I don't want to know
All I know is she wasn't me.

I won't write the obituary for mine just yet, but the song "What Might Have Been" by Little Texas will likely be a big inspiration for it.

If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.
