Joe Biden's White House Bouncy Ball

Aides to former President George W. Bush are challenging the veracity of Vice President Joe Biden's claim this week of having privately castigated Bush, who does not remember the incident or an earlier episode in which Biden claims to have similarly rebuked Bush.

"I remember President Bush saying to me one time in the Oval Office," Biden told CNN, "'Well, Joe,' he said, 'I'm a leader.' And I said: 'Mr. President, turn and around look behind you. No one is following.'"

"When I speak to the president - and I have had plenty of opportunity to be with the president, at least prior to the last election, a lot of hours alone with him. I mean, meaning me and his staff," Biden said on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" in April 2006. "And the president will say things to me, and I'll literally turn to the president, say: 'Mr. President, how can you say that, knowing you don't know the facts?' And he'll look at me and he'll say - my word - he'll look at me and he'll say: 'My instincts.' He said: 'I have good instincts.' I said: 'Mr. President, your instincts aren't good enough.'"

Bush aides now dispute the veracity of both assertions by Biden.

"I never recall Biden saying any of that," former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said after reviewing detailed notes of Bush's White House meetings with Biden, which include numerous direct quotes from Biden. "I find it odd that he said he met with him alone all the time. I don't think that's true."

Candida P. Wolff, Bush's White House liaison to Capitol Hill, said the only meetings she remembered between Bush and Biden also included other lawmakers. She said such meetings were held in the Cabinet Room or the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, not the Oval Office, and certainly did not last for "hours."

"The president would never sit through two hours of Joe Biden," Wolff said. "I don't ever remember Biden being in the Oval. He was such a blowhard on all that stuff - there wasn't a reason to bring him in."

Andy Card, former White House chief of staff, reviewed the two Biden claims and said: "This does not ring true to me. I doubt that it happened."

"I hate to say this, but he's a serial exaggerator," Rove told FOX News. "If I was being unkind I would say liar. But it is a habit he ought to drop."

Rove added: "You should not exaggerate and lie like this when you are the Vice President of the United States."

"It didn't happen," Rove, a FOX News contributor and former Bush adviser, told Megyn Kelly in an interview taped for "On The Record." "It's his imagination; it's a made-up, fictional world.

"He ought to get out of it and get back to reality," Rove added. "He's making this up out of whole cloth."

Neither one of 'em are worth a half a bowl of dead bong water between 'em.  No bushes - well, except for the President, that is - no conversion, no cops to jump out of aforementioned bushes - President or otherwise.

You really aren't trying, are you Josef?

It is really sad that democrats and liberturds HAVE TO exaggerate something to make themselves look smart.

The one real way for Biden to clear this up is to provide a day and date that he had these conversations with G.W. so that the records can be searched to determine if Biden was really in the oval office on that date along with a time-line.

Of course, you know that Biden and his merry minnions will claim that someone in the Bush administration falsified the records when it is found that not only didn't Biden have a meeting with G.W. on the date and time Biden provided, but that Biden wasn't even in D.C. on that date.

The problem is, of course, that of the millions of people watching Bill Maher's show half of them now believe that Biden told the truth - and they won't be shaken from that opinion.

Such is the life of a liberal - watch a celebrity's political spewing and think that it's news.

BIDEN: "So I told the president, 'We used to eat fighter pilots like you back when I was in the Elk's Lodge.

"The Dick Cheney jumps-up and says, 'Hey! You can't talk to the president like that!' So I grabbed him by the thumb and ninja flipped him over the president's desk while the big-eared Texan cowered in his seat.

"Just then Karl Rove got up to run and get the Secret Service but I pulled-out my trusty 6-shooter, the one I gnawed from a single piece of Castillian ingot once given to me by the king of Spain, Juan Carlos. It was smelted from the remains of when I saved him from a falling meteorite. Anyway I said, 'Not so fast Karl, there's no point getting all them young agents killed, so you just sit yourself right down' and he did.

"Yeah, he peed himself; the big sissy."

"True story. Swear to gawd!"

DUMMIE: "And then what happened Mr Biden?"
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Why, oh why, is Rove allowed to roam free? If there were justice in America, he would be someone's "bitch" in jail.

35. Rove has not been taken into custody because our DOJ has been corrupted
Holder is using the Stevens case to clean house. The Republicans can't squawk because Stevens is one of their own. Holder is firing a lot of folks right now.

If Holder tries to do anything right now, it will blow up in his face. Holder needs to get a high profile republican criminal case mishandled so that he can get rid of the current head of criminal investigations (a Bush plant).

You got all the phony, perverted propaganda points coming out of Republicon Homelander Chickenhawk Rove, as he lamely defends his Chickenhawk xCommander AWOL Bush, and xVP Dickie 'Five Military Deferments' Cheney.

So sorry. No one at DU swallows that phony crap. We insist on truth.
