White House: No bow to Saudi
« on: April 08, 2009, 07:48:03 PM »
Quote
The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets.

"It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah," said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The Washington Times called the alleged bow a  "shocking display of fealty to a foreign potentate" and said it violated centuries of American tradition of not deferring to royalty. The Weekly Standard, meanwhile, noted that American protocol apparently rules out bowing, or at least it reportedly did on the occasion of a Clinton "near-bow" to the emperor of Japan.

Yes, the White House is out and out lying to the American People, but the left is still defending 0Bama and disbelieving their own eyes.

I guess it depends on what your definition of bow is. :whatever:
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Hmm...

Height doesn`t seem important here for some reason.

That was all I found from a google image search,no initial meeting or greeting with the Queen.

These events are choreographed to the nanosecond so that I doubt that picture of Obama bowing was a random, off the cuff shot.

It was deliberate imo and a miscalculation in the extreme aimed at islamists.
They have more brains then O and will regard it as a pandering sign of weakness.

I think even the left realizes that a bow like that is a bad thing, which is why they are trying so hard to deny what their own eyes are showing them.

I had posted earlier that the complete lack of knowledge of protocols showed the scary ineptness of the O team in organizing these events.

More convinced of that now then before...a political show is what they aim for rather then diplomacy or international relations.

They simply don`t care what reality is,they think the world is the fawning press and mush minded idolaters that they met on the campaign trail.

 :rotf:

This is oh so laughable to claim that "the messiah" was attempting to compensate for the height difference.

It's more like "the messiah" bowing down to the leader of muslims.

As Americans we should NEVER bow down to anyone - period.

this is so damn lame

but the rabble will buy it if they even cared at all.
My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

In the event that even lying socialists can occasionally tell the truth I decided to check out the video again. Sure enough, 0 is taller than the king. Sure enough, 0 does appear to grasp the kings hand with two hands. The problem is that the only way this would matter is if 0 arms are only about 12" long.

I am just astounded. We have videos of the bow. The white house lie is obvious, but the media goes along with it.
I think its time we changed the phrase, "Main Stream Media" to "The Ministry for Propaganda."

Lemme see if i got this straight:

The king is shorter than Dear Leader so Dear Leader bows...

...so deeply that the person he's trying to accomodate has to look down?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

For crying out loud.  If you look at the video he bows so deeply it almost looks as if he is going to 'take a knee'.

To coin an 'O' phrase;

"They must think you're stupid!"

Newest "explanations" from the WH Press Office...

The teleprompter fell over.
His contact fell out.
He dropped his Newports on the carpet.
He wanted to see if Saudis wear the same "ugly assed" Bruno Maggli shoes (^5 if you get that reference.)

Bullshit.  Bullshit!  BULLSHIT!!!  Obama's left hand does not leave his side until AFTER the bow.  You can see it very clearly in this video:

0:02 - Obama approaches the king
0:02-0:03 - Obama bows
0:03-0:04 - Obama's left hand can clearly be seen hanging down at his side
0:04 - Obama straightens up and then the left hand comes up

Okay, so it wasn't a bow, then it must have been obama attempting to give the king a MONICA. :rotf:
