Help. I'm exploiting brown skinned people and I don't know how to stop!

We are having new ceramic tile laid in our home.  A LOT of it.  725 sq. feet.  Ok, well, a lot for me.  I have 4 Mexicans doing the work and they are doing great but I feel bad!  Someone help me feel better!!!!

A couple of weeks ago we went to the tile store and picked out some tile.  They asked if we wanted them to lay it and I said "No, we have a guy who does all our rent homes" (yeah, I'm an evil capitalist who exploits the poor as well).  This guy (who is white) was going to charge me $2.00 per square foot to lay the tile.  The problem came up when the white guy told me he had surgery scheduled for this week.  Oh NOES!!  I had to call the tile company and tell them we needed them to lay the tile.  4 Mexicans showed up.  They only charge $2.75 per square foot to lay tile and I feel HORRIBLE for exploiting them!!!  Someone talk me down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  /DU mode.

Maybe I should tell them what I would have paid the white guy?!  I dunno ... you tell me.

Why does it take 4 Mexicans to do the work that one Anglo can do?

I feel horrible.  The guy we bought the tile from was white, the guy I had picked out to lay the tile was white  .... I was trying really hard not to exploit brown skinned folks but it just happened.  Who would have thought the sales guy could be white and his tile guys be brown?  Not to mention the price differential.  Should I offer them more per square foot .... I'm so confused.

Here's a cosmic karma tradeoff for you to work with:  The saleslady who sold my laminate flooring was black.  The two guys who installed it were white.

Close call on who makes more money between sales and installers. I'd go with the installers.

Our sales guy straight up said the installers make more than he does but he didn't seem to have a problem with that.

When I was working iron I know I was making more than the guys in the office.

We deserved it too.

When we had our laminate installed (1000 sq Ft), we had 4 Mexicans and one white guy. The white guy had a saw with the finest teeth I have ever seen. All he did was install the base boards.
