As for trying it my self, I already *know* what *I'm* capable of doing. I trained in the martial arts and self defense for most of my life. I'm quite adept at close quarters combat, and I used to get paid to beat people up. Given my choice, I'd rather fight someone in close quarters, like a bathroom stall, or even a phone booth...

This isn't about me, though... this is about you backing up your claims and showing your understanding of anatomy & physics, and explaining how it would prevent someone from doing what shamwow guy did.

You *can* explain it, with your "rudimentary understanding", can't you?

I've no experience with malicious tongue-biting, solicited or otherwise, but I can IMAGINE that if someone had such a firm hold on my tongue--or other members--using blunt force to dislodge them could convert the injury from a "simple" bite to an aggravated tearing/avulsion injury.

I would think that a thumb to the eye would be more likely to compel the attacker to release without further harm to one's self.
