Too Far! Obama Demands, Gets Resignation from CEO of GM
« on: March 29, 2009, 05:14:39 PM »

The Obama administration asked Rick Wagoner, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, to step down and he agreed, a White House official said.

Wagoner's departure is one of the remarkable strings attached to a new aid package the administration plans to offer GM.

The White House confirmed Wagoner was leaving at the government's behest after The Associated Press reported his immediate departure, without giving a reason.

On Monday, President Obama is to unveil his plans for the auto industry, including a response to a request for additional funds by GM and Chrysler.

We're now hearing from a source at GM that Fritz Henderson will be taking over as CEO of the nation's biggest automaker. Frankly, Fritz ain't the worst choice to take over from Wagoner. To be honest, however, it's not like there's a whole lot of other choices out there.

Anyone who thinks Obama is going to keep this country on a "moderate" path, raise your hands--so you can be shot.

Too bad he didn't treat Nardali the same way.

Home Depot was smart when they got rid of him and Chrysler was stupid for hiring him as their new CEO.

Its time for American taxpayers to cut their losses and STOP the bailouts.  If a company is headed down the toilet it is for a reason - because it was meant to fail.

Get used to it.  President B.O.'s starting with the big stuff and pretty soon he'll be moving on to the little guys.  Private enterprise in a free economy will be a thing of the past very soon.  The government will own and control it all.

And they claim the ****er isn't a socialist.  Do we really need more proof than this?

What we’ve seen just happen with GM is that...to be brutally honest...is that they’ve been made the Federal Government’s bitch.

From here on out...as long as Obama is in power...he will say “jump” and GM will say “how high” on the way up.

No more Suburbans...no more big trucks or Corvettes. Nothing that the normal American can afford if it doesn’t meet the new EPA standards.

Hello Chevy Volt and other electric cars out of the price range of anyone not classified as “rich” by Obama and Co.

Mark Levin had it right on friday when he said this administration wants to be like East Germany...where cars were a rarity and the population was forced to use bicycles as their primary mode of transportation forcing them to live closer to where they had their job.

It’s a form of subservience and forced loss of individuality at the hands of the government.

What is happening to this country seems like a nightmare. I wish it was just a nightmare. You know it's bad when even the socialist EU criticizes Obama's economic policies.

I hope some of the states - like Louisiana and Texas - who were contemplating accepting bailout money or not wake up and smell this particular pot of pintos.

I think if it were possible to do so, The Anointed One would take over the states.

I'm not sure if I agree with Obama on this one, but they *are* wanting to use government money. Just like countries who want to use our money normally have to agree to our terms, companies are the same. I didn't really want to see the government step in to help GM anyway, but they did.

The point is, this was a lost cause right from the get-go. All three of the automakers showed up in D.C. (after having flown their expensive corporate jets) begging for a handout.

After a lot of bullshit, finger-pointing, and typical Washington rhetoric, the government ponied up the money for GM and Chrysler. Ford said they didn't want any.

So like the spineless pussies they are, GM and Chrysler took the money and ran home, after being chastised for their corporate jetting around and the half-baked "restructuring plan" they waved in Congress' face.

The government has NO BUSINESS dicking around with owning businesses - AIG, GM, Chrysler, or anything else.

Keep in mind that Obama doesn't want to run a business - he simply wants control OF the business. Control equals Power, and Obama wants it all.

And so far, nobody seems to be able to stop him.

So now that GM comes whining back to the government with their hand out for more, Obama pulls out the big stick and whacks Wagoner across the back of his head and tells the guy to pack his bags like the little bitch he is.
