Terror inmates may be released in US: intel chief
« on: March 27, 2009, 07:13:00 AM »
President Barack Obama's intelligence chief confirmed Thursday that some Guantanamo inmates may be released on US soil and receive assistance to return to society.

"If we are to release them in the United States, we need some sort of assistance for them to start a new life," said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first press conference.

"You can't just put them on the street," he added. "All that is work in progress."

Obama has vowed to close the controversial prison camp by next January and has ordered individual reviews for cases against each of the over 240 remaining prisoners.

Blair told reporters that the review of Guantanamo cases was still underway, and that the government was "building dossiers on each of the detainees."

Now I've ****ing heard it all.

In an executive order signed days after he took office in January, Obama also promised to uphold the Geneva Conventions for the remaining prisoners until the detention center is closed.

Given the fact that under the GC-1949, these guys were NOT representing a particular nation nor were they in uniform per se, the only "protection" they're allowed is a double-tap to the back of the head.  But hey, that's just me.

The article doesn't use the exact word "welfare", but the implication is pretty clear:

Holy crap. What's next? Putting them up in the homes of Americans?

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Probably a violation of the Third Amendment, but that's not gonna stop this administration.

Yes, that "boom" that woke you up was NYC, Washington, Chicago, LA, or some combination of all of them going up in a mushroom cloud.

I was talking to some Capitol Hill swat team guys about a year ago while we were waiting for them to inspect the muskets our color guard guys carry.  He told me with all the intel they get it's not "if" there is another attack but "when".  He told me the bad guys would like nothing better than to roll the Capitol Dome down Independence Ave.

And now we want to turn these very people who want to do that very thing loose on the streets of this country!

I'm telling you...one very public burial of a couple of terrorist scum with a slaughtered pig in each grave would bring the WoT to a close MUCH faster.

My email to Obama:

Quote
Dear Mr. President:

Your National Intelligence Director, Dennis Blair, is reported to have testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee on March 10, and he confirmed yesterday, that detainees at Guantanamo are likely to be released on U.S. soil and that they will need financial "assistance."

I translate this "assistance" as welfare, Mr. President.

This is an outrage, should this come to pass. I am writing you, a sitting U.S. President, to scream "ENOUGH" already for the slap in the face to the American people that his administration is contemplating.

Has Blair lost his mind? More importantly, do you support that kind of ridiculous, ill-thought policy? Isn't this proposal yet another burden to the American taxpayer that your administration has heaped on us? When does it stop? After the next 9/11 attack?

Are you actually considering putting these people where they have the wherewithal to wreak further havoc on our Nation? And then pay them for the privilege?

I strongly suggest you reconsider the reckless, thoughtless, and incredibly bad message that Mr. Blair is reported to have said and then reel him in.

Firing him might be appropriate, but since your administration has trouble in finding qualified people and keeping them (Treasury comes to mind), you might have trouble replacing him.

Your call, Mr. President. But understand this - this voter is watching this issue, and others that have come to light since you took office, very carefully.

Sincerely,

There was a lot more I wanted to say, but in order to keep. a. civil. tone. I had to rein in my contempt just a little.

Well, damn.

You know, I'm having one of those "tea parties" out here in the Sandhills of Nebraska on April 15, in front of the post office.

We were looking around for issues to get usually mellow, laid-back, relaxed Nebraskans stirred up.

I had three issues, but this makes a fourth.

Probably a violation of the Third Amendment, but that's not gonna stop this administration.
Now, now...the 3rd amendment was written to keep the US from quartering UNITED STATES troops in people's homes. Obama--being a constitutional lawyer--woud be the first to point out there is nothing to keep him from quartering FOREIGN troops in your home and, after all, conservatives would be the first to claim that jihadists are not soldiers under international law so he can pack your house full of jihadists who shall henceforth be titled "undocumented non-domestic activists".[/sarcasm...I think]

Then I'll just invoke the Fourth and Second Amendment, in that order, and with great vigor.

If another terrorist attack happens after the release of these criminals, THE PRESIDENT is now complicit and the american people will not only push for impeachment, but for jail time.

I'm convinced he's an enemy of this country....one need to look no further than these liberals to understand their deep hatred.  Their actions speak volumes and this should be broadcasted for all to hear.  Hannity WILL bring this to prime time.

He's toast in 4 years.
