The argument on Tweety: Is a 90% tax a "PUNISHMENT"

Tweets is saying it is. Democratic guest is saying it's no such thing, simply a way to get the money back. Republican guest is saying exactly what you'd expect.

But excuse me...didn't we have a 90% marginal tax rate in the "olden days?" The days when all these old rich families made their fortunes? 90%. It wasn't considered a Constitutional problem or a "punishment" then. Why is it now, when theives [sic] file a claim to a benefit to which they're not entitled?

Of course Playboy Pedro fails, once again, to understand that in the Good Old Days of the 90% income tax rate, nobody, but nobody, ever paid 90%.

In fact, Papa Joe, father of Vast Teddy, was paying a lower percentage of his millions than was, perhaps, Playboy Pedro's own paternal ancestor on his much lesser income.

But, one can't illuminate a rock, so oh well.....

5. I think we will be asking Scalia, unfortunately.

This law is heading straight to the courts, all the way to the top.

My perspective is this: I agree with the Republicans AND the Democrats. But these are extraordinary times. Come on, be honest! Torture, wire tapping, prison camps...the answer from the Republicans was always that somehow we're in extraordinary times which demand extraordinary action to protect America.

These are extraordinary times. People have stolen our tax money right before our eyes. Don't give me any bullshit about contracts. The contracts themselves are part of the crime. It's ****ing BRILLIANT! Indemnify yourself from the crime you're about to commit.

**** that shit.

These are extraordinary times.

they say it was stolen??

Franklin Raines got $70 million. Jaime Gorelick got around $20 million. They destroyed the housing market and their 'company'.

They could use some punishing

I look at it this way; If the government can break a private contract with a private citizen then when we come back to power we can break all the social entitlement contracts...NULL & VOID.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

They do seem to have a difficult time understanding what the definition of crime actually is.

The scary part is that it is a glimpse into the inner workings of a libs mind and how easy and natural fascism and dictatorship is for them.

Crime is when people they don't like are the ones doing the exact same thing they themselves did.

When Raines and Gorelick et al steal millions its "for the benefit of the people" or for "the common good".
