Pentagon: China Weapons Development Threatens Taiwan
« on: March 25, 2009, 09:51:16 AM »

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Defense Department is questioning how China intends to use its rapidly expanding military power, including what it calls some "disruptive military technologies."

A new Pentagon report also says Beijing continues to develop weapons that threaten Taiwan, even though tensions between the two have been reduced significantly.

The assessment comes in the latest in a series of annual assessments for Congress of China's military power.A new Pentagon report also says Beijing continues to develop weapons that threaten Taiwan, even though tensions between the two have been reduced significantly.

In other words.....bend over Taiwan amd kiss your ass goodbye. You are to be a gift to the socialist state of China from the new leader of the socialist state of America. The almost blind dude from England only got DVD's that don't work on his system because England isn't communist enough.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

IMHO China is very close to calling our bluff on the whole "Two China's" thing.

And I'm afraid we're going to blink.

This is one of those situations where Obama has to show some serious balls no matter what.  If China does move in, we are obligated by treaty to intervene.  So Obama either has to make the call to open hostilities with China, or he's got to turn his back on an ally.  Either way will have long standing reprecussions.  I honestly don't know which call he'll make.

Obligations and commitments to long standing allies mean nothing to him.

It is ironic that he hyped about reclaiming our 'standing' in the world, only to turn his back on our allies. The hypocrisy is not surprising though. The spineless Kenyan will back down without a shot being fired, despite being bound by treaty to come to Taiwan's aid.
