Why wouldn't the market go up ? If the Government offered to pay 85% of my debt, I'd respond positively as well.

It went up by 500 points because the government is going to take toxic loans off their hands and put them into taxpayers hands where they will be sold for pennies on the dollar to leftist 'investors' to resell for dimes on the dollar, borrowed from government and mostly not paid back ever,  and make hefty profits.

Its called a scheme to inrich the friends of the powerful. Like in a 3rd world country or Chicago.
