Sunny Saturday
« on: March 21, 2009, 06:12:06 AM »
Almost.  The sun isn't up yet, and it's a chilly 32° outside.

I'm at work for now.  They're swapping out some UPS systems, and its supposed to take down one of the servers.  Not sure how long I'll be here.  Got some replacement brake light sockets for my car... found something about that style of socket shorting out because of moisture getting into the brake light enclosure.  So I'll see how that goes.  Got my caffeine and sugar all lined up for the day. :p

Clear with the sun just peeking up over the mountains and 19 degrees, heading to 45 today.

I've got two empty growlers, crying to be filled with beer.  Problem is, the place is in North Conway, over an hour away.  Do I make the drive up there, knowing full well that the town will be crawling with Massholes, or do I just suck it up and go to Portsmouth and buy a couple of growlers of Red Hook--btw, the Copperhook is AWESOME.

Also debating whether or not to play poker today.  Played a little local place last night but took a HORRIBLE beat from a total "donk" (bad player).  Such is life.

Off all next week, but no plans to do much of anything, aside getting a piece of the back of property cleared out so I can plant as soon as frost danger is past in a few weeks.

Frost on the ground this morning.  So much for spring. :banghead:  High of 50 today.  Baseball practice and dance in the mix.

Having philosophical differences with my younger son's coach.  My tongue is sore from biting it.  Don't know how long I'll be able to keep my mouth shut, but I do know if I hear any mention of them throwing a curve ball, he won't be pitching.

Not sure what our afternoon plans are.

It's up to 45 from the 32 it was earlier and headed to the upper 50's.

Need to make a Sam's run, meet with a client to get some final paperwork signed for selling one of her properties (the one there was the big "to-do" with the buyer's agent's broker - SOB almost killed the whole deal - my seller wasn't going to sign off on the home inspection, she was going to let the buyers' walk), look for some plants at Lowe's and Home Depot.

Still looking for some yellow knock out roses and we are enlarging an already huge flower bed. Can't keep the grass growing between it and another one around some trees, so we are just going to incorporate the two. Mulch is easier than fighting with the grass. I'm looking for perennials to put in it. And I think I'm going to put a little bench up there too....something for the squirrels to sit on... :uhsure:

We are expecting some rain today, but it isn't so bad yet.

I'm going to a friend's baby shower.  She is due in a month, but the baby has been shy at every ultrasound, so they still don't know what they are having :p

I'm at the lovely real estate office.  Today my goal is to read a chapter or two of Simply Success and possibly do a bit of my accounting homework.

I'm halfway through Satan's Circus.  Becker was just charged with murder.

My next book is Ernest Shackleton's journal/biography about his trip to the South Pole.

No, I only got through Bestial during break.  I still have Satan's Circus to read when I get a break from school.  Seriously, it's non-fiction it's not like you really ruined anything.

Yes, I'm so happy!  He gets to move out of that FEMA trailer!  I can't wait to get down there and see it the new house!

Now, hopefully another hurricane doesn't hit anytime soon.

Sounds nice.

I am not sure what I am going to do today. At some point I will fire up the washing machine, good times!! I might meet up with some neighbors in the swimming pool for some vollyball. It's pretty bad when 70 year olds kick your ass.  :argh: The pool is still enclosed for the winter, by the end of the month it will be an outdoor pool again.

I left it at work.

I used to make "finger jello" when I was a kid, always liked that.

Well, I got more positive news today.  My mom's boyfriend is seriously contemplating rewiring my whole house for me.   :-)  I've been paying him with baked goods so I told my mom "this is gonna cost me a lot of cake."

What an absolutely glorious day!

Cold outside but sunny and my wife, this angel whom I clearly do not deserve let me sleep in till ELEVEN today!  :yahoo:

Mancub is off at a birfday party for a chunk of today and everyone is just kinda chilling.  My wife is going to pull out the bill stuff and deal with that this afternoon, so we will hang out the "Please Don't Annoy The Finance Troll" signs and walk lightly until she is done grumping over my reciepts and tiny smeary printing in the checkbook register.  Later the handsome prince kisses the grumpy trollette and she turns back into a sunny princess. :-)

I gotta go into work for 5 hours here. Then, watching basketball and the Klitschko vs. Gomez fight later. I would like to go shoot some rifles tomorrow, but, the range is muddy as all get out still, I'm sure.

Yeah, I didn't want to sound too excited when she told me, but that would be fan-freaking-tastic!
