Monday. Arise ye worker bees and go forth to gather pollen!
« on: March 16, 2009, 07:28:02 AM »
Going to be in the mid 60's today. Low 70's tomorrow.  Obvious trick to lull us into relaxing so Mama Nature can crush our spirits with a freak snow storm We remain vigilant. No matter how warm it may APPEAR to be the kids will go to school in snow pants and parkas until the threat of cold weather passes.  Maybe June or so.  :-)

I have to call and see about getting the yard treated to try to kill the hordes of box elder bugs that will be hatching and swarming us later.

Cloudy, dready, soggy today.  High of 50.   I  :banghead:  I could really use some sunshine!

First baseball meeting tonight (for the 13 yr old)...he didn't get on the team he really wanted, but hope it's a good year, anyway.  When the coach called, he said "He came highly recommended, so I snatched him up in the draft", so that made him happy.

Still haven't heard anything about where my little guy is playing.

Nothing else planned for today...did the gorcery thing yesterday, planning on leftevers for dinner, so heck, I may just crawl back in bed and nap during the gloom!

Eh, I've been up since 3:30, and it's the first day of my weekend. I'll be glad when glowbull warming is in full effect, and we can do away with winter altogether.

I don't care what the weather is. I'm retired.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

What an appropos analogy!  We, the worker bees, are going forth to gather the pollen.  When we bring it back to those who stayed we vomit up our earnings so those who stayed may have honey.  Good job asdf.  ^5!

Going to the 70's here today after a miserable weekend.  We stayed in the 40's with rain all weekend long.  Odd weather for the Houston area.

Had a fab weekend!  This week is my spring break (woohoo) and I have zero plans, other than work.  I am going to try to finish a couple of novels I'm working on.  I'm a nerd.   :p

Trees blooming creating high pollen counts!

Nothing like sneezing 100 times while you are trying to get ready for work.

This will be our first week in the 80's just in time for the first day of Spring.

I can tell the REAL first day of Spring.

It's when the Mom's at the elementry school all show up to pick up their little people in excersize spandex after working out in the warm weather.

One of my friends calls it "Boobie Day".  :uhsure:

Crappy day at work.  It didn't start off too bad, but it went downhill.

I have a headache now.  I'm making a new recipe for dinner, Black-Eyed Pea & Sausage Jambalaya, that you make in a rice cooker.  I didn't have two ingredients, beef broth or green onion, but I think it'll turn out okay.

Also I have been proactive and put together my breakfast/lunch/snack for tomorrow.  I bought some Pinata apples today and they're delicious.

I have to finish up my accounting homework and this stuff for my management class.  Then I think I'll have a beer and hope that takes away my headache.

It's hard not to be when your boss is constantly talking about the dealership closing, and then finding out that our parts & service had the best February in years.  She's constantly negative.  I just couldn't take much more of it today...hiding in my office hoping she doesn't come talk to me.  I love when the market goes down and she bitches about that...and she doesn't own any stock (not even the 401k).  Last week she said she "heard" that a huge dealership chain was declaring bankruptcy (a Fortune 300 company)...yet it wasn't anywhere in the news and she wanted to cut off their dealerships that do business with us (and they're paid in full).

Sigh, it was just a crappy day.

If the dinner turns out good (and it smells delicious) I'll post it in the recipe forum.   :-)

Done and done.  Black-Eyed Peas and Sausage Jambalaya
My mom got the recipe out of a magazine and gave it to me.  :)

Sorry that your day was bad. You pretty much described mine as well...started off good...then went to crap.

Major piece of equipment has been breaking down....today there were two guys from Japan working on it....they flew in. They were in my way.

Sorry that your dad was bad. You pretty much described mine as well...

Major piece of equipment has been breaking down....today there were two guys from Japan working on it....they flew in. They finally believe us now that it has not been working right, as they tried all day...so these guys are in our way, when we are trying to run full production....

I'm getting a headache also. It might be from the two women in my department that stand around and talk (very loud I might add) and then blame everyone else for work not getting done.  :censored:

:(

That sucks.

BTW--also just found out this afternoon I got "volunteered" to do acceptance testing on new equipment next month.

IN KANSAS.

Of course, the new switchgear we're getting has to be tested too by another of our guys--in Tokyo, for a MONTH.

I love getting all the romantic, exotic locations.

Okay, dinner is delicious.

Ugh. You remind me of my bastard neighbors. At least twice a week (more often on nice days/open windows) I walk up my steps and they are cooking, I don't know what, but it smells awsome.
  +H5

Leaves in a huff to nuke some old pizza.

Okay, something tells me you need a few lessons in learning to recognize sarcasm.  My co-worker goes to Tokyo to deal with Mitsubishi, I go to Kansas to deal with a SCADA system.

Funny thing is, given the chance, we'd trade places in a heartbeat.

Was there some sort of holiday today that nobody bothered to tell me about.  I hit no traffic on the way home, and I left work at 5:45!
