A question for the forum...about the economy...

Edited on Sat Mar-14-09 01:39 PM by Peacetrain
I know the economy is in rough shape because of the mishandling by the bush administration and having giant programs with no way to pay for them. Adding on two hot wars and not funding them..The republicans just do NOT know how to run a government as large as the United States.

But the question is this.. Do, or would, the republicans and their minions on TV be so callous as to try and tank the economy from recovery because Obama would get the credit?

Would they really purposefully have a strategy to hurt the country to knee cap Obama?

All the republicans have to do is too, well act like democrats and help bring about their world view. That would "tank the economy" soon enough.

1. I wouldn't put it past the repukes.   Updated at 6:53 PM

They are openly embracing such a strategy, even.

FWIW Galt has some very valid points.

5. Well,

They do hate America, ya know.

The teeming masses, the immigrants, and all of Joe-sixpack society are looked down upon from their lofty perches with the knowledge that tomorrow they might have to live down here amongst us heathens.

Looking down on the "heathens" ?

You mean like Al Gore in his heated mansions, laughing his ass of as you stupid lefties bankrupt the nation by trying to keep up with his demands ?

Like George Soros ?

Teddy the swimmer ?

3. No, they are self serving at heart and would also be hurt by a depression

Any further erosion in the economy or lack of recovery soon will create problems for all. They have kids in school and lives that will be trashed by a depression, so they will protect themselves and their family first, like normal human beings. They will maneuver around the issue and find a way to take credit for success or be distanced from any failure. They have 401K's and pensions that will become dust and in the end, money will drive them to save themselves and by linkage, everyone.

I am not my brothers keeper.

Hey DUmmies.  Republicans can't stop you just now.  It's the Democrats' balliwick and they are screwing up.  How do you think massively increasing public debt and getting no return on it is going to help?

FWIW, the current government is too large for any group of individuals to actually control.  It needs to be reduced in size and scope to no more than 75% of current, and could safely go much further than that.

So now looking out for one's best financial interest by refusing to re-enter the market and buy stocks when Hussein tells everyone it's OK is "be(ing) so callous as to try and tank the economy from recovery" and "purposefully hav(ing) a strategy to hurt the country to knee cap Obama."

Hussein's cult followers are so cute when they look for excuses as to why he's a failure.

Fine, I'm a hard-ass callous bitch.  I will not invest in a Democrat-controlled environment.  My mattress provides a greater return, by far.  I will manage my finances to produce the minimum of taxable incomes that I am comfortable with, while generating the maximum tax deductions.

The utter stupidity of this comment is off the "stoopid" scale!

Ya mean kinda like the $2 trillion debt your savior is puttin' us in now?

I didn't think so! What a maroon!
