Does Joan Rivers scare you?
« on: March 09, 2009, 10:20:42 PM »
Joan Rivers on Trumps Celebrity Apprentice freaks me out. I'm not sure how old she is, but her face is as disturbing as Michael Jackson's. It's just wrong. She's obviously had so many face lifts that her face looks like a mask.

Yesterday I went to the Sunday evening water aerobics class at the fitness center. I digress, but I love that place. The loud techno music blaring drives me crazy in the huge area with all the weight machines, but everything else is relaxing. It's almost like going on a vacation. It's a granite and marble fitness paradise, with 2 large whirlpools in the aquatic center with a waterfall thingy that's good to stand under and relax the back, a lap pool, huge pool for water aerobics and family swimming, large outdoor pool (obviously not open yet), areas for stuff like heated yoga (very warm room for relaxed yoga), steam rooms in the men and women's locker rooms with eucalyptus (great if you have a cold), saunas, etc. They have a restaurant there with healthy, good tasting foods, Pilates classes with the Pilates reformers, etc, etc. All for $59 a month for one or $109 a month for 2.

But I digress. Back to the subject at hand. The water aerobics instructor freaked me out. Her name was Susie. She looked as good as Schade's pics body-wise. But unlike Schade, this woman's face looked like Joan Rivers!

She almost had a non-face. It was so tight and pulled up. She probably would have been beautiful if she had let herself get old gracefully. But she looked like a kid with a long blonde ponytail, cute shape, but the scary, scary face. I got in the back row so it wouldn't distract me.

I guess I have age issues.  :-) Or maybe it's just issues with trying to look like something you're not. Saw her afterward and not surprised that she was dressed like a teenager.

Am I the only one that this bothers? I won't be insulted if you tell me to get over it.

Joan Rivers DOES scare me!!! She's got to be 101 years old. That face is frightening. I can't imagine seeing someone in real life like that!

I did enjoy Celebrity Apprentice and I agree Joan has spent too much trying to look young, and she was ripped off!

Your fitness center sounds really nice.

In person, the plastic faces really creep me out.

Oooh, right before going to bed. I'll have bad dreams all night.  :-)

BTW from that pic, she needs to do something with the lower face. Personally, SR will have to take me the way I am. I'll never do plastic surgery, too frightened of surgery.

Women with facelifts scare me.  Next to tattoos and fake breasts, that is one of the worst things a woman can do to herself.

Ugh.

I think they have been doing too much to the lower face already. :o  :-)

I think some ink on chicks is hot. I also like eyebrow piercings, naval piercings, and 'lower region' piercings. Yet, I prefer natural breasts.

Joan looks a bit strange, but she doesn't scare me.  I think she looks good for 75.  She's sharp as a tack too.

I was prepared not to like "that old woman" being on The Apprentice, but it turns out she makes the show, so to speak.  She is the least boring "celebrity" in the cast.

Back in the day, Joan was a real pip.  She worked the club circuits with a lot of folkies and soloists.  Joan was always known for taking care of everyone around her.  She never had a bad word to say and treated everybody, from the floor staff to the owners, like they were her kids.  It was nothing for her to bring a picnic she prepared at home to feed everyone.  No one went hungry or felt depressed and lonely around Joan.

I never knew Joan, or even saw her, but I knew people who did work with her.  Everyone fondly remembers her.

Very little ink is ok. When the arms and legs look like a printed road map, that is just gross.

I don't mind the the smaller rose or butterfly tattoos in places that aren't normally seen.  :naughty:

She doesn't look as bad as Michael Jackson.  He's just freaky looking.

She just looks fake.  She should have stopped years ago.  I think that Geico commercial with her saying "Am I smiling? I can't feel my face."  Is funny though.  :)

For the record, Joan is 75.

Greta Van Susteren scares me lately.

She has so much Botox in her face, that when she talks, she looks like one of those parody things with the animated mouth on a still picture.

She's on now interviewing Newt. Newt looks better, natural looking, no botox. His entire face moves.

That's a greyt description of anyone who's been Botox'd too much. A girl at my office is an attractive young woman (who says she's 31) who told me she's going to get botox from her mom for her birthday. I tried talking her out of it, but she's following the lead of her mom.  :whatever:
