Shark-Bite Capital To Host Surfing Contest

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- Volusia County -- the world's shark bite capital -- will host a surfing competition next month.
The Volusia County Council approved the event last week. Organizers said the Land Shark Spring Surfari Pro could attract 2,000 visitors to the Ponce de Leon Inlet.
Land Shark Lager, produced by a Jacksonville-based brewing company, will sponsor the contest during the first week of April.
Volusia County saw 22 shark attacks last year -- its highest yearly total since 2001. Most of them were in the surf haven of New Smyrna Beach on the central Atlantic coast.
What are they thinking?

Dinner is served.  :rotf:

Maybe the price of chum for fisherman has gone up and they just need something to fill in.
