Freezy Monday Suckage.

Cold.

Quote
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MILWAUKEE/SULLIVAN HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

Windy.

Meh.

Spring was supposed to have put in a permanant appearance here at some point.  I distinctly remember having changes of season in the past at some point.  Once in recent memory it was even warm and sunny.

If it snows again I might just be chasing my family through the topiary maze with a fire axe.

A bit blustery here, too, asdf, tho it's not cold, anyway.  High of 57.

Had a sick kid yesterday...puking and running a fever, but he said he was better this morning and went to school even though he had the option of staying home (is that normal for a 13 yr old? ).

Lived through the Basket Bingo yesterday...hope we made a lot of money!

I need to go to the intermediate school today and see about bussing my kiddo from there to the primary school so I can work there, too...not getting quite enough work at just the primary school.

Other than that, just planning on watching to see how bad the market tanks after a weekend off.

Sorry about your weather asdf, it's been lovely spring morning today and was warm enough to have my morning coffee on the patio. :)

I woke up to a rainstorm which shocked me because I didn't know we were supposed to get anything. I checked Weather Underground and it has a slight chance of rain in the forecast. I guess my neighborhood got the 'slight' part this morning.

Today is a mandatory furlough day so instead of working I'll be having lunch with a friend. I haven't seen her since she was laid off in January. Work is just not the same without her. I'm looking forward to catching up.

Other than that, I would really like to straighten up the apartment and just relax. I'm still a little sinus-y today.

We were in the 60's over the weekend, but in the high 30's today.  Springfield , IL which is 30 some miles west of here got hit hard , yesterday by either a tornado or very strong straight line winds.

I'm tired this morning and I don't want to be here.  :(

Tomorrow I start back to school, so today was my last day of sleeping in for another 11 weeks.

I just sat down for the first time today (and I am also eating for the first time).  We were planning on taking my Mom out for her birthday today but last night my step-dad took us all out for her birthday.  So I mention that we were going to take her out to dinner and she said she wanted me to make her the carrot cake I make and spaghetti and meatballs.  I had planned on making her the carrot cake but didn't plan on making spaghetti and meatballs.  I secretly dreaded making both of them as they are both a PITA to make.

I went to the store this morning to get the stuff and took my Mom with me (she said she wanted to go with me last night).  I went to the cool new Kroger down the street and they have HUGE ferns for $9.99 (Mia, you need to go get you one, I'm sure they have them at a Kroger near you).

Anyway, my Mom was fiddling around the store and I was stressed.  I kept looking at my phone to see what time it was because the spaghetti sauce has to cook pretty much all day.  I used a scoop that you make cookies with instead of an ice cream scoop for the meatballs so they would be smaller and cook faster.  The cakes (three layers) are cooling and I still have to ice the cake.  It should be refrigerated for a few hours too as it tastes better refrigerated.  I put pineapple between each layer so it isn't a real quick job either.  I also made a mess in my kitchen using the food processor for the carrots and making the meatballs.  I have cleaned it all up and I don't want to make a mess icing the cake (and I know I will) as I even cleaned all the stainless steel appliances and all of my countertops.  I am exhausted.

BEG, next time you need a carrot cake just let me know.  I really enjoy baking.  Plus I have one already made & iced in my freezer (since my mom's boyfriend didn't come by last weekend).  I don't use pineapple though.

Thanks for the tip on the ferns at Kroger.  I go grocery shopping tomorrow.  :)

My Mother would not approve, she wants to know that I am working my ass off.  PLUS it has to be pineapple and three layer or it's not carrot cake.   :p

I'm back from lunch with my friend.

We went to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse. I had a Honey-Crisp Chicken Salad and a Piranha Pale Ale.

Scrumptious!

LOL!  The recipe I make is for a 3 layer but I do two thick layers instead.  And no pineapple or raisins, but I do put in toasted finely diced walnuts.

I bought a second bowl for my KitchenAid mixer yesterday online.  :)

I've seen a BJ's around here somewhere but I've never been there.

I don't put raisins in it either and I use pecans instead of walnuts.
