North Korea threatens full scale war if rocket is intercepted

It has also cut off its border and telephone links with the South in protest at military exercises by American and South Korean troops which began on Monday.

Plans for a launch were first picked up by satellite imagery, with foreign intelligence agencies saying it was a test of a long-range Taepodong-2 missile with the capacity to hit parts of the United States.

The United States said it would shoot down the missile if it headed towards its territory. Japan has suggested it might try to intercept any launch, even if the payload is a communications satellite as claimed by Pyongyang.

"If the enemies recklessly opt for intercepting our satellite, our revolutionary armed forces will launch without hesitation a just retaliatory strike operation," the general staff of the North Korean army said in a statement on state media. It singled out the United States, Japan and South Korea as targets.

I doubt NK soldiers are truly motivated. Any new Korean war will be short and quick...
well, it would under President Bush. Under Zero, we would surrender Washington State to the NKs to ensure peace.

Its sad to know that Bush could see the petty little man that ran NK, while 0bama sees a fellow comrade oppressed by the west.

I seriously doubt that Obama would have given ANY kind of order to shoot down this missile -- with or without the NK blather.

This kind of rhetoric really shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. NK winds up looking like it's defending its "just" territory while any kind of move on our part (up to and including monitoring) is portrayed as Yankee aggression.

Business as usual. The NKs blather and we go to the "negotiating" table to hear more lies.

It'll be interesting to hear what Shrillery has to say, if anything. Most likely, Obama will give her the words that she'll be saying.

In keeping with the true tenants of liberalism, Hussein should apologize to the DPRK for the USA existing which forced the great Kim Jong-il to have to take time to warn us not to interfere.

This warning was totally unnecessary , 0Bama would have done nothing even if the missile landed in the US.  Well maybe he would  have apologized to NK for the US being in the way of their underwater probe.  :whatever:

I've always thought Kim Jong-il had the hots for Condi in her knee-high leather boots and would stamp his feet and make noise until we sent her over to see him.  Now that it's Hillary, I'm not sure he feels the same.   :-)
