Caracas - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Friday called upon US President Barack Obama to follow the path to socialism, which he termed as the "only" way out of the global recession. "Come with us, align yourself, come with us on the road to socialism. This is the only path. Imagine a socialist revolution in the United States," Chavez told a group of workers in the southern Venezuelan state of Bolivar.

The controversial Venezuelan leader, who taunted the United States as a source of capitalistic evil under former president George W Bush, added that the United States needs a leader who can take it to a "higher" destiny and bring it out of "the sad role that it has been given, as a murderous, attacking power that is hated all around the world."

Chavez said that people are calling Obama a "socialist" for the measures of state intervention he is taking to counter the crisis, so it would not be too far-fetched to suggest that he might join the project of "21st century socialism" that the Venezuelan leader is heading.

I have been predicting for some time now that Obama will go all Hugo on us.
People have told me here that I was high....but i think they're going to do it. The liberals know they have a short time, and they won't get a second chance. The deliberate destruction of the economy is just the beginning folks.
Expect price controls by summer.

While I don't doubt you, how much longer would it take for those who are having their money taken from them, to be in full-scale revolt?  I.E., civil war?  It's probably a lot closer than one would think.

I think that you are correct. I have been talking to a few moderates that voted for Obama that are not happy with the way things are going under the Obamanation. Of course the die-hard lefties will... well... die before they admit that he is a disaster. They prefer socialism over hard work and innovation any day.

Hugo, like the Little Goons, liberals in general, and other anti-American types refuse to accept the fact of American exceptionalism.  They do this mainly not because they don't know the reality, it is because they want so desperately to wish it away.  The USA is going to be just fine.

The majority of this nation's citizen are not going to give up their lifestyle and freedom to appease the Left.  There will be war - there will be solid resistance - and there will be a huge backlash. 

The Left, in their usual arrogant ignorance, has overestimated their power.  They have decided to play all their cards in the first hand.  Now, their chips are falling off the table.

This nation, being a polite society, has absorbed a certain amount of socialism.  This has happened because socialism has been introduced in a slow and painless manner.  Now this sudden onslaught is upon us.  It's "in your face" and completely threatening.  It isn't going to be embraced.

The American spirit is still alive and well.  It sleeps complacent in good times.  It roars and fights in the bad times.  These are bad times. 

The Left is about to become poison.  The arrogant pricks deserve every minute of it.
