Bill Calls for Ban on Barbie

CHARLESTON -- Barbie has been around for decades, but is it time for the blond to be banned?

It may sound silly, but it's a serious issue for one West Virginia delegate.

"I just hate the image that we give to our kids that if you're beautiful, you're beautiful and you don't have to be smart," said Del. Jeff Eldridge, (D) Lincoln County.

Delegate Jeff Eldridge introduced a bill to the house on Tuesday asking lawmakers to stop the sales of Barbie in the mountain state.

Delegate Eldridge isn't trying to target just Barbie but any doll that puts too much importance on physical beauty.

"I knew a lot of people were going to joke about it and poke fun at me. I couldn't get anybody to sign on the bill with me but I said I'm still going to introduce it," said Eldridge.

I was partial to Rainbow Brite, Jem and of course...

My first pet was a cat named Custard when I was 3.  I begged for her, because Strawberry Shortcake had a cat named Custard.

I went as Strawberry Shortcake one year.  My mom made the costume.  It was awesome!  I think I was like 3 or 4.  She couldn't find girls tights in green and white stripes, but found a pair of women's trouser socks that were.  I work thigh highs for the first time, and the heel of the sock was up to the back of my knee.  LOL!

Then when I was 5 I was She-ra.  My mom made that as well, it was freaking awesome.  The gold and white cape.  I think I tried to wear it every day for a good 6 months, my mom wouldn't let me though.  :(

I'll see if I can find them at my mom's house.  It was a perfect costume.  :)

Oh and Barbie sucks ass.  When you take her head off it's soooo hard to get it to pop back on.  And she looked stupid after you cut her hair off.

Why would this DUmbass think Barbie wasn't smart?!  Did he try talking to her and she wouldn't answer his questions the way he wanted her to?!

What an idiot.

Barbie and Ken. Barbie is always the smarter.
Who has the jobs? Barbie. Doctor Barbie. McDonald's Barbie. Teacher barbie. Military Barbie. Veterinarian Barbie.

Who has the car? Not Ken. Its Barbies!
Who owns her own house! Barbie!

Ken has never held a job in his life. He bums the couch at Barbies place until she gets mad and exiles him to the toy box.

Like all democrats, this state delegate has no friggin clue.  I guess that make him Ken.

So he added Hollywood Movies and just about every TV show to that list of banned items?  :uhsure:

And almost every single magazine, except for Heifer's Quarterly.

I think someone married the smart, frumpy girl.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Some of us were fortunate enough to marry a woman who was smart and beautiful.

Sometimes she has to remind me of how lucky I am, too.   :-)   :uhsure:

As have said before...I chased her till she caught me.

 :p
"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."
