Good Morning,
I read the article about a month ago and he was predicting the breakup of the US. On that part I felt he could be spot-on. Where I disagree is this. He indicated that the country would be split up into something like six sections with Texas part of Mexico and CA being Chinese etc.
To me that indicated a decided lack of understanding about certain cultural aspects of the US. If countries secede, out of that will arise a new republic based on many of the same principals as our founding fathers with safeguards agains too much government control. Particularly in the case of Texas, the author forgets that such a large percentage of the population is armed. He also neglects to understand that the huge geographical area that voted republican and that it is the inner cities, decendents of the LBJ unwed mother incentive program that voted democratic. Now those folks would have a problem in those states who choose to secede, likely there will be migration and deck shuffling a good bit.
In both the case of AZ and of TX, they have been constrained by the federal government when it comes to protecting their borders. Remove those constraints and it could get pretty interesting. Mexico might become part of Texas but not vice-versa.
