2. Cleveland Indians
3. Detroit Tigers
4. Kansas City Royals
5. Chicago White Sox   <----- loving this one!

Pennant Winners
AL: Boston Red Sox
NL: New York Mets

I agree with this also.   The Mets are going to the dance this year, as are the Sox.   Great series.

No idea yet on the rest.    Haven't got my feet wet in preseason enough to say either way.

I, as a Mets' fan, am not arguing with the assessment given.  However, I do think that the Rays will outdo both the Red Sox and the Yankees.

I can't figure out why he's picking the Jays for last. They played well after the All Star break last year. Losing A.J. Burnett hurts, but not that much.

I think the Sox are the clear favorite in the AL but the NL is wide open.

If Beckett, Ortiz and Lowell were healthy last year the Rays never would have had their card punched -- only to go on to be embarrassed by a NL team no less.

They had their chance last year.  They can go back to looking up again.

The Bluejays did a lot of nothing this offseason.

My only baseball prediction is that the Kansas City Royals will do better than everybody--that is, everybody excepting their general manager and franksolich--thinks they will do.

Yeah, but I'm seeing rumors that that stance might change soon.

Also, OrioleFan, I see where the O's signed Adam Eaton (to a minor-league deal).  They only owe him $400,000 and the Phillthies still owe him $8.65 million or something like that.  Thing is, he's probably only worth what the O's are paying him.

If Alex Gordon would live up to about a third of his hype their chances would be better.

Who knows, maybe he'll eat up some innings as a back of the rotation guy.

I hope you're talking about the Tidewater rotation.  His ERA is 6.10 over the two seasons he pitched with the Phillthies.

He'd fit right in with those numbers.

Did y'all see the prognosticator of these "preseason picks"?

Here is a quote from him:

Dude wasn't even born before the 1994 player's strike. LMAO.

Anyone who picks the White Sox to come in dead last in their division has my vote.   :cheersmate:

Alrighty then. The first series is 4 in Boston on the 17th through 20th of April. Sox sweep you win. O's take two or more I win. Sox take 3 out of 4 is a push for the usual bet of one week of public avatar and signature humiliation. You up for it?

Okay, I get.

He picks my team (no matter how improbable) to win the division, wild card, etc.= he is a genius. Gotcha.

it would be a mistake to discount the dbacks' chances.  they are very young, and already very good;  and the top of their rotation is as good as anyones.  LA couldn't catch them without manny, and still couldn't run away from them with manny.

although, I believe that I noticed on an MLBN crawl line yesterday that eric byrnes still isn't playing because of his hamstrings?  those are some injured hamstrings.

Hey, you disagree with him then run it down.   You know I don't, and actually think he did a pretty decent job on his predictions for a youngster.  He is probably a numbers cruncher who has been consumed by stats and baseball cards since he was old enough to read.   I have a nephew like that who is a freshman in college.  He could ramble off the stat of any player you name -- sports is his life.

Had he picked the Yankees to finish above the Red Sox, I still would have given him a tip of the cap (everyone always picks the Yankees to win the division).

It's just sports dude.

You know I am going to win right?  I always win.    Two months to figure out what avatar you will be posting, so little time....

I can't believe DK hasn't made his way over here.   There are bona fide Dodgers lovers here, and no DK?   blasphemy.
