http://www.atr.org/index.php?content=022609ot-map-po

Here are Maps where you can track the pork projects that the House of Representatives passed in the Omnibus bill last week. One map is for pork in the Commerce, Justice and State part of the Bill the other map covers Energy and Water bill earmarks. Warning! May be dangerous to your health, High fat content.

Not a damn thing in Idaho!

I seem to notice that any state that did not carry the Big Zero either has no stimulus or next to nothing. Am I mistaken?

Anybody kept a list on pro and con states in the election?

Hmmmmmmmmm, seems like there is a method to this madness! Take a look at the map for pork and compare it to this.

I can't get the image to show up, so here's the link. Amazing it looks the same for red and blue as the pork barrel!

It's frikkin IDENTICAL!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a ton off pork.

It's not exactly identical, but there is a high correlation

For instance, NC has 8 projects (went blue for first time in 40 years, was the state that pushed O over the top), SC has 2 (red); PA has 13 projects (blue), WV has 4(red), IA (blue) has 3, NE (red) has 1.

There are some anomalies, like D6 mentioned nothing in CO or NM, they went blue.  3 in AK, 1 in MT, 1 in WY, they were red.

I think it's not so much payback for voting for O as it is Dems pushing for the pork and Reps either not asking for it or not getting the dems to put it in, so that their re-election chances are lower.  Either way, it's a very political looking map.

A lot of fish restocking with my tax dollars.  I thought projects like that should be paid by fishing licensing in those areas?

Mostly law enforcement stuff, which I support, but it doesn't seem to be increasing the ranks of police and first responders, just techy stuff.

I just want my government to keep me safe,  fix the damn interstates and lay more passenger rail.  Simple, eh?

High-speed rail would be great, but would it work here? If AMTRAK is any indicator, either Americans do not like to travel rail or they have a serious management problem. They've been bleeding for years.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Amtrak isn't cheap, either.  You can rent a car for half of what they charge for a decent seat.

I'm to the point that the Feds government at all levels has so abused that phrase - "to keep me 'safe'" - that I want some qualifications on it.  I want my Federal Government to keep me safe from foreign enemies.  Period.  Post military on my country's border to keep out the evil hordes, and smack flat those who attack my countrymen either at home or abroad, or seek so to do.  That's it, end of mandate.

I want my state government to keep me safe by continually reminding the idiots at the federal level where the limits of their authority lies (SEE: US Constitution), and slapping their ****ing hands when they overstep those bounds.  Every time.  Not just when the percentage they're taking from my wallet doesn't make it worth their while to crawl in bed with the Feds.

I want my local governments to keep me safe by locking down the thugs lusting after my family or property BEFORE I have to kill them.  And failing that, if I have to defend my family from these thugs, I want my local Government to police the bodies, thank me for taking a scumbag off the streets, and leave me to my family.
