Enjoy the quicksand: Palin, Jindal, Barbour, Sanford, Perry about to walk right into it

South Carolina's Mark Sanford, Louisiana's Bobby Jindal, Mississippi's Haley Barbour, Alaska's Sarah Palin and Texas' Rick Perry are all apparently aligned to reject the Stimulus Package for their states. Rejecting aid for their infrastructure, ignoring the unemployed and middle fingering thousands of good-paying jobs for their citizens plays second to their political aspirations and ego.

And it goes on like this.

Yet, earlier they were blathering about how if the GOP had any integrity they should be allowed to opt out of the stimulus money:

Sadly the DUmbasses don't know, or care, that only $40 billion goes to actual infrastructure and the biggest slice of that goes to cali and nev for the train from Disneyland to Vegas. So at best a state would get about $800 million for infrastructure.

Those that fail to see reality are doomed to live in the parent's basement.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

One of the few things I can agree with Governor Good Hair on!

Good on ya Rick Perry.

The thing is, why wouldn't they take it? It's not like the money is going to go back to the people. It'll go to other, more than likely, liberal states. Then, when the Republican governors are voted out due to the idiocy of the American people, a liberal will be elected.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

I've been hearing the Governers say that a lot of the programs involved in this package are only going to be paid X amount by the Feds.  Once that money dries up the states are expected to foot the bills, putting them in an even worse position then their already in.

Exactly.
Around here the public schools are forever building temples and ball fields and name it by selling the thing to voters on the "state pays 80%" of the cost thing.

Well those 20% left overs add up after time, the work is usually shoddy with no oversight so the repairs are 100% the districts to pay for and then the upkeep on the new building is never factored in.

A neighboring district built a new science wing and then discovered that the heating system was no where near the capacity to meet the addition.

Kind of went off topic but gravy trains are never what they are promised to be.

Bingo.  Too many millions are already being spent for unfunded federal mandates.
