One of the most popular post in "The Confluence" blog at this point is one wondering if there is double standard in the fact that DU compared Bush, a white man, to a monkey in his appearance, (playing the race card), yet it decries the same apparent treatment of a black man (in regards to the New York Post cartoon that has created controversy). The chimp in the current controversial cartoon doesn't even look like a caricature of anybody.  Most editorial cartoons are confusing and so I just make up my own meaning for them and since the chimp doesn't look like any famous human associated with the porkulous bill, I assumed the reader was supposed to assume that an insane chimp on the rampage literally wrote the bill.

And if I didn't know that rampaging congressmen/women/senators were far more dangerous and insane than a rampaging chimp I could easily believe it.
