 Advertisements [?]In my opinion, he was trying to cram as much racist imagery in one cartoon as he could. He had a dead monkey, with white officers doing the killing. A 'Beware of Dog' sign.

Don't tell me the sign was for accuracy, because the shots were several to kill the chimp. The cartoonist used two side-by-side holes for a reason. Think about it. He could have used one in through the chest, or several in a grouping. It was intentional.

I think it is something in DUmmie psychology, being the racists that they are, they see chimps and other members of the monkey family as being like black people.  OTOH, if they believe so strongly in evolution, then any member of the monkey family could represent any backwards less intelligent member of the human race.  In a way we do that by referring to the primitives of Skin's Island as DUmpmonkees.  :uhsure:

We discussed this in class. Some people didn't see a problem with it, but most did (surprise).

One girl brought up that it was Congress, not Obambi that wrote it, so there was nothing racial about it. Guess how that was received. 

However, it was brought up that when Bush was portrayed as a monkey, it was OK then, because "no one liked Bush."
