I am going to make a prediction
« on: February 17, 2009, 11:45:56 PM »
Hi,

After watching Fox news until my eyes are blurry and seeing the stock market reaction to the stimulus bill I suspect a couple things will happen.

First of all it is two years until the next election.  I think the libs are banking on the public having a short memory and in 2010 BO and friends will be telling the public just how wonderful things are in camelot.

Also, I am now seeing even the libs giving BO somewhat of a pass and blaming the content of the bill on Pelosi and Reid.  Sometime before the election they will be replaced and take the fall for the good of the party and BO will make sure the anger is directed at them, not him.

Like ususal the liberal media will give him a pass and many will be hoodwinked once again.

regards,

That would have been the situation 8 years ago.

Today -- Rush and Sean will make sure the new fuhrer's involvement in the economy tanking is 100% on point.

Already, after a few months, the arrogance of the fuhrer is working against him.  In a few years the pile of shit he will be carrying will bury him.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

I don't know, but I kind of agree that Pelosi and Reid will take most of the blame. 0Bama will claim that he needed the major parts of the bill and had to take the crap that they threw in to get it passed.  Of course he will downplay the fact that HE was the one that let them have free rein to design the bill with little or no guidance from him and his advisors.

Pelosi and Reid (but especially Pelosi) will never take the fall for anything. Their egos are way, way, way too big for that.

Although I have zero issue with Pelosi and Reid being blamed for the biggest pork bill in the history of our country, the veteran pork farmers surgically removed themselves from responsibility by placing the enactment of this horrific spending on the shoulders of the Messiah in claiming it his victory, over and over and over again, to the press.

They have already started a delta of distance from this ill conceived disaster.   He will be standing quite alone with it when he runs for re-election.   My prediction is that Joe Biden will distance himself from it also.

Exactly.   They know this bill is disaster, but decided to take advantage of the rookie by packing on the entitlements to please their lobbyists, while pointing blame directly at the feet of our horribly inexperienced politician who is our president (God help us).

His embarrassing rookie mistake has not only hurt our country, but it pretty much sealed his fate in the next Presidential election.

Republicans are finally working together to build a nice platform and base for the next election cycle.   We need to groom a strong candidate NOW who can take back the White House.   All those candidates from the past?   toss them aside.   We need fresh blood who is a proven leader, fiscally responsible, and is a take no prisoner philosophy on national defense and foreign policy.  Steele has a lot on his plate.   Let's not freakin blow it this time.

The DNC owns Obama in the next election.  They would never pit a candidate against an incumbent (unless that incumbent is of course Leiberman).

Bingo.  Once a rep makes it to Speaker, he or she is so entrenched that about the only thing that can shake them loose is indictment, great personal scandal, or a turnover of the majority party.  The Speaker and Senate Majority Leader have a stronger hand to play than the President does in a game of Who-takes-the-fall.

Hi,

While I totally agree with you about theDNC, if this crap continues then their "boy" will have out lived his effectiveness.  In the words of LBJ, "I will not seek, nor will I accept my parties nomination for the presidency!"

While I seriously doubt that will happen, if the DNC really believes that the world will come crumbling down around them, you never know what they will do for sure.  If BO is so unpopular, then Hillary could be marketed as a breath of fresh air.

My reall feeling is they are getting the heavy lifing out of the way immediately in hopes that 18 months from now there is some different emergency that only the democrats can solve.

5412 is correct on this point....

The American public unfortunately does have a short memory and politicians use that to their advantage.

I mean let's be honest...  once the election is over, most folks don't pay a lot of attention to what the elected idiots are doing.

Then during the next campaign cycle comes around they only pay attention to the 30-60 second sound bites produced by the cadidates or those that support them.

The average American is woefully ignorant when it comes to politics and politicians.  IMHO anyway.

They'd just rather have their bread and circuses.

hi5.... that is why we end up with the same crowd of inbred morons in washington.....

time to drain the swamp and this bill, if unsuccessful may be the catalyst to do it....I don't know about the rest of the country but there are allot of pissed off people in my neck of the woods and are finally realising career politicians are simply in office to serve their own self interest.
