Tuesday. Cripes.
« on: February 17, 2009, 06:13:53 AM »
I am TIRED.

Got the phone call a little after midnight and had to deploy folks to take care of a family who lost their house to a fire last night.

We finished up the call at 3:45 and kibutzed a little and I rolled into home at 4:30 or so.

I had to coffee up to make the drive home safely and of course I was wired after that so I tried playing Fable 2 to unwind and I just got the ton o' bricks feeling a bit ago. 'Cept the alarms went off and I am waiting for the kids to clear the shower and such so I can get some breakfast in them. then I have to get the paperwork from earlier into our office later this morning.

Then we have 6-8 inches of snow coming tonight into Wed.

Weeeee!  :-)

It's gonna be a loooooooong day here.  I'll try to coop up and nap for a bit after noon.

My youngest has a fever and sounds like she's coughing up a lung...My wife worked last night, so it's my turn to take the day off and take her to the doctor's. She's riding a fine line with tonsilitis--a few more and they'll take the suckers out.

It's not like when I was a kid. Everybody I know had their tonsils out. Now, they want to keep 'em in.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

I hear ya on the tonsilitis...my youngest is dealing with it right now, too.  His tonsil get HUGE when he's sick.  I kept him home from school today...he still ran a mild fever yestedy afternoon, so I want to make sure he's fever free before sending him back.  Tonsils are still big, but I think he's on the mend.  Debated on whether to take him to the Dr, but figured they would tell me it's just a virus, so I'm waiting to see how he does.

Working tomorrow, so if he does have to stay home tomorrow, Mr Flame will stay home with him.

Sunny and low 40's here today.

I dorked it up last night with Lego Star Wars on the Wii.   :-)

Today's going to be a long day, I gotta work until 8.  :(  My dad's coming in this evening to check out a used car we have for his wife.  It's a 98 Jetta with only 50,000 miles on it.  My dad's never seen where I work either.  LOL!

Well....my buyers that have been looking at huge houses finally did an offer last night. I emailed the paperwork about 11:30 and they sent it back all signed and everything this morning. Only $65 thousand under list price. :thatsright: They were going to do $100K less....so they did come up but it's going to be their only offer.

I'm not feeling very optimistic. But there aren't a whole lot of buyers out there looking at $500,000 homes, and there are a whole lot of them on the market right now, many of them empty. So maybe we will get lucky. Out of the 50 houes I have shown them...it's the only one that "talked" to them. And one should not buy a house...at any price....that doesn't tell you that "you can be happy here".

Have gotten one report done, another to go...and I really need to do laundry. I swear the stuff gets together...has laundry sex....and multiplies. Worse than rabbits!!!

On the other hand....it's a bee-u-tee-ful day in the neighborhood...bright, sunshiny, and in the 40's.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I spent the last 4 days fixing a major FSCK up at the local VFW. It's a good thing for them that I am a multi-talented individual. I had to go back for the last two quarters of last year, find records of sales for both Texas State local sales tax and Texas State liquor Tax...... :banghead: :banghead: THEN, after a bookkeeping intensive weekend, I had to go to the local branch of the State Comptroller to get our checking account unfroze. My forté is "fixing things", so, it fell in line with what I like to do. The BAD thing is that I don't get paid for this gig.....  :bawl:

Actually....I too, think a house should "talk" to you before you commit to paying for it for the next 30 years. Never talk yourself into buying a house...it won't be the right one.

Multi-talented? And you don't get compensated for your talent? On multiple levels? Oh, the horror!
