I'm giving up lint.  I have a bag of it hanging from the rack above the clothes dryer.

I'm giving up eating fish on Fridays. From now on, it's only beef or poultry on Fridays.

I read in a 'net gossip column that CU's gator is giving up Ron Paul for Lent.  I don't know how true it is.
