BEIJING — Measures in a $789 billion U.S. stimulus package that favor American goods are a "poison" that will hurt efforts solve the financial crisis, an editorial by China's official news agency said.

Provisions in the U.S. stimulus bill approved Friday favoring American steel, iron and manufactured goods for government projects are protectionist measures that could trigger trade disputes, said the editorial issued late Saturday by the Xinhua News Agency.

"History and economics have told us, facing a global financial crisis, trade protectionism is not a solution, but a poison to the solution," the editorial said.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I knew something like this was coming, but of course didn't know its exact shape.

apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

I was thinking that same thing.

I know, and they're going to be needing them more than ever.  It's impossible to tell, did this make it into the bill?  I know that O was rethinking it after getting slapped for it.  The most grownup thing for him to do is just veto it, tell everyone to take 4 weeks to read carefully, and re-tool it.  Something so huge and sloppily put together is only disaster waiting to happen.  Why can't he see that?

This would be a near perfect time for a line item veto, but we know the 0Bamessiah wouldn't use it.

Two problems:

Teh One can't afford to admit he's capable of mistakes.

He has pushed the "speed" meme so hard, he's painted himself into a corner.
