Blustery Thursday
« on: February 12, 2009, 08:02:43 AM »
Winds around 40 mph today, with gusts up to 60...started about 3:00 am, supposed to last all day.  Cats decided they would stay inside.

Nothing exciting planned today, as usual.

It sounds like you're having the weather we had yesterday. Our winds were up to 55 mph. Yesterday was so awful and grey, but sunny today.

The dogs are sleeping in and haven't barked for their breakfast yet.  :-)

We had wind and thunderstorms yesterday/last night. This morning is bright and sunny with a possible high in the 50's. It's Thursday, so later will be grocery getting time.

Ditto here, but I think we are only going to touch the mid-40's. Despite having flu, when I dropped my little one at the sitters, it actually feels nice out...still breezy, sunny, and comfortable. Very nice. wish I wasn't sick!

Got my oldest home sick with the same crud too.

Working on school work now. Hoping to hit the sack once I'm done.

I am big time sick.

Bad cough/cold/sinus thingy.

I had to cancel out of teaching a class tonight and I think my nominal "Boss" is pissed at me for leaving her to try to find another instructor.

I really hoped I would feel better today but I think I was up half the night and I started today feeling like a train had hit me.  The medicine is helping a lot but I'm kinda grogged out.

I'm gonna go coop up on the sofa some more with the puppers.

A nasty flu has been making it's way around the "office".  Miraculously, I have not caught anything yet.

I had the rotovirus a couple of weeks ago.  Got it from The Heiress.  She couldn't keep things down.  I couldn't keep things in.

I had to go about an hour west of here this morning, to look at a substation.  Seems that the city it's in is doing a revaluation, and they wanted an appraisal of the place.  The minivan that is assigned to my agency got blown all over I-90.  The parking lot of the substation was a skating rink.  We have to measure the perimeter fence, but there was almost three feet of snow up against it for the entire perimeter.  So, we're using an overhead picture to estimate the length.  I have to go back to the oral surgeon this afternoon--other than the area around the four wisdom teeth being really tender, it seems to have healed nicely.

But, other than those things, everything's great!  My PajamaGram for my wife should be getting here tomorrow.  A day after I ordered it, she said, "Hon, you don't have to do anything for me for Valentine's Day--I didn't do anything for you."  (I had wanted the MLB 2K9:  Front Office Manager game for the PC.)  I said to her, "Too late," with a smile. :-)

I'm sorry you're still feeling under the weather.  :(

I had an exam this morning and I think I did okay.  She drops one of the exam grades, so if it's below a 97 it'll get dropped anyways.   :-)

So I got outta class early and went by the house to remeasure the kitchen space for the fridge I want.  Then I called my dad and told him the exact measurements.  Last night I went by Best Buy to check it out in person.  I'm truly an adult...I ogled kitchen appliances last night.

Anywho, after talking to my dad, it's gonna all work out fit wise and he gave me the go ahead to buy it.  :yahoo:

In other good news, my boss is off today and tomorrow.  :)

You got your wife a PajamaGram????
If I did that, I'd be dating my right hand for a month.

Okay the fridge has been ordered.  I'll take pics of it on 2/28 when it gets delivered.  I know you're all anxiously waiting to see it in the splendor that is my kitchen.   :-)

I got my mom a pajamagram a few years ago for Mother's Day.  She loved it.

But I don't like you enough for a pajamagram...I'll buy you a beer tomorrow as a Valentine's Day present.   :naughty:

Oh Lord.  I just got off the phone with a stuttering Chinaman.  Ugh.  Impossible to understand.

Anyway.  I have to throw something together tomorrow for an office birthday pot luck/dinner and I don't have a clue what to bring.  Anyone have any ideas?

Chips and dip?

meh.  I could find something unique and/or different.  Terra makes really good chips... their spiced sweet potato is tasty.

Home from work.  I know in my job for my particular employer, we're not supposed to take tips.  When I wasn't at a register, I helped bag groceries and took some customers to their cars.  SCORE! $10 tip from one of them (one of my favorite regulars too). :uhsure: :naughty:  So much for that recession, eh?

I put the money in my coin jar.  I'll save it for now.  Might buy myself some fancy dinner later on. :p
