"Down almost 5%. What do these people want?"
I nominate that one for the stupidest DU comment of the day. I don't even know what to make of it. Who are "these people?" What are they "wanting?" Does she picture a bunch of bankrobbers or something, making something go down 5%? I don't get it.
You perhaps aren't aware of the life of the carpetbagging maternal ancestress.
Born circa 1945-1946 into a prominent Irish family in Boston engaged in the legal business, and making a very good living at it, the daughter who was sort of ignored among the brothers, who were trained for the family business.
Becomes a hippie during the 1960s, rejecting the "materialistic" values of the then-establishment, but very careful not to reject her well-endowed trust fund.
A "social" "activist," becomes enamoured of some guy from Alabama, marriage lasts a short time but long enough to procreate the Bostonian Drunkard in 1971.
Seeking to be liberated of her "little girl" role in the family, like Dan Quayle goes to night school to become an attorney, in between changing diapers on the Bostonian Drunkard.
Finally earns a legal degree, but because taxes are too high in Massachusetts, moves to New Hampshire where taxes are lower.....but in New Hampshire, continues to vote the same way she had voted in Massachusetts, thus ensuring that ultimately taxes in New Hampshire will become just as high as those in Massachusetts.
The carpetbagging maternal ancestress, even at her advanced age, is not very well-versed on matters such as the origin of money and wealth.
