Sunny Saturday
« on: February 07, 2009, 08:10:48 AM »
Ah, a day off.  Got to sleep in until 6:30.  Sitting and scratching in the hotel room, grateful I'm not dressed out in anti-C's, getting my nuts irradiated.

Actually pretty nice here today--got into the 40's yesterday, looking at the low 50's here--WoOt!

Aside from doing my weekly laundry, I've no plans.  I might try to find a nice steakhouse to see if Iowa beef is all it's cracked up to be.  Aside from that, maybe a few thousand black-n-tans will die down my gullet.  I DID manage to find a nice microbrewery down the road from where I'm staying, so all is well, as long as I don't try to drink my per diem check.

What gives on the rest of CC's world?

Finally got a day off. Going to the driving range today to hit a 2 or 3 buckets while it's still warm out. Gonna watch Colorado vs. OU and the go to the gym. Gonna up a restaurant later for some Mexican chow.

Woke up in a MUCH better mood.  Maybe I was just tired last night.  Or maybe I just needed sex... :-)

Gotta get a bit of work done, laundry, pick up the house and then start organizing the house for when I am gone.  I leave early Monday morning and I want to make sure that everything is taken care of before I head out.

I am going shopping with a friend tonight.  Well, she is someone I stopped being friends with because she was being a bitch.  Things are kinda mended but I am really leary about spending the evening with her.  oh well, at least I can get some shopping done.

It feels like spring here.  So warm.  It is supposed to hit 70 again today.  Oh how I miss this weather.  I want it to stay.

I was out playing guitar, you could have dropped in.
I'm waiting for the yard guy to come and trim the frozen ends of the bougainvillea.  He no habla engles, so it is always an adventure telling him what I want done in the yard.

If i am not aware of the opportunities...I can't take advantage.   :-)

Bougainvillea...I miss having those in my yard.  I LOVED the ones I had when we lived in Cali.  I'm sick of brown right now...I need life to be brought to my yard again.

Want me to send you some fresh grapefruit?
My trees have me fairly inundated in them.

Lemons and limes in September.

You just earned bonus points....my mouth is watering just thinking of grapefruit.

I went to bed early last night.  Now I'm about to hit the shower and do laundry before I head into work.

I have both red and white.

The lemon tree is a Meyer, those things are great.
The limes are Bearss, a hybrid of the key lime, tart and very fragrant, great in making margaritas and bullfrogs.

I'm putting in a limequat tree in a couple of weeks.  They're like kumquats, but more "lime" flavoured.

Now you are just taunting me with all your....produce.

I hear ya, Cat.  Dad just pulled all the grapefruit off his tree and is having his gardener prune it way back, if he hasn't had it done already.

I missed grapefruit for breakfast every morning.

Laundry is done and put away.  Maybe I'll go down the road and play a game of "Wal-Mart Bingo".  The guys in the shop hadn't heard of it so I had to print them out a card.  It now holds a place of honor on their shop wall.  Ah, the sharing of knowledge...

HA!  I am totally printing that out and playing it!  There are two super WM by my house.  One is brand new and really clean and has great service.  The other one is completely and totally white trash world.  This card is priceless!

My brother was in town yesterday.  I spent the evening with my family :)

Finally got around to watching 'No Country For Old Men'.  What a weird-assed movie.

Meh, going to work again today...until midnight. :(

They did finally fire some of the deadweight at work last night. :hyper: Now, if they get rid of two or three more people, then I'll be happy. :p   Okay, I know I shouldn't hope for people to be fired, but there are people out there who need jobs who could do so much better than what the current idiots-in-residence do (or don't do, to be more accurate :whatever:).  They had me stay an extra hour to take care of the fired person's assigned task for the evening, then I left at 10.

I'm all clean from the shower
I got clean clothes from doing laundry.

Now I'm at work for the next 4 hours.  I'm gonna write up some "pay up bitch" letters to go out in Monday's mail.  Then I'm gonna goof off.  My boss invited all us girls over to her house this evening for margaritas.  I'm a little scared.

I'm gonna take my baby out for a spin.  It is such a nice day and she deserves it.   It's been too long.

I thought my collection of semi-running old vehicles was becoming a problem.  My brother drove down from Columbus in an absolute piece of shit 80's-era GMC pickup.  You could got about ten miles an hour, tops, in first gear.  Bed was full of rocks and bricks to keep the rear wheels on the road, cab had assorted bottles of fluids to keep the truck from bleeding to death.  It was interesting.

His other vehicle is a 1977 Chevrolet Blazer.

Very nice.   :II:

Thanks!  She's hella fun to drive!  And it cracks me up when I pull into a gas station.  Most guys don't know how to react to a chick getting out of a car like that. :lmao:
