Seriously

Yes, you might find this discriminatory, but every kid born taxes our resources that much more. If a parent wants to do the utterly selfish thing of having more kids than two - then they should pay.

Oh, and by the way, I am a Parent.

We should not get into the business of telling people what their family makeup should be. If you have lots of kids it's going to cost you a lot.

Yeah, you're right .....a tax on all persons that have kids depending on the government to provide for them. I think a 100% tax rate would be a start. ....for the first one. ....... And double for each additional child.

Long long time ago.....back in the 70's ....if not before, I just remember it was around then...there was a joke...

Know what the difference is between a Democrat and a Republican?

A Democrat has no money, a bunch of kids and is Catholic.

A Republican has money, 2 kids, and is Episcopalian.

Obviously it became politically incorrect.....


just for the record....I grew up Episcopalian...and am Catholic now.

It is in society's (and thus our) interest to have an educated populace, which means educating kids in an INVESTMENT.

HOWEVER, that investment is NOT paying off, as we can see by the progressive dumbing down of the populace over the last 40 years or so.  Now, even in newspapers, the "educated" people can't even properly distinguish between "less" and "fewer" -- writers and editors both.

If I am getting nothing on my investment, I want to reinvest it where it can do some good.  How about vouchers?

In my case, I am walking away from my "investment" -- I'll be damned if I will stay in a place where we put the most into education and have the lower education level by any standard.

And the Federal Government should have ZERO involvement in education, except training of our Armed Forces.

Society as a whole has an interest in both the prodution of children, and the education of children.  Very few can truly say they will have no benefits from the investment in the next generations, even if they have no children themselves.  Unless we completely revamp our entire society (and in a libertarian direction instead of the socialist direction we are now moving), the quality of the next generations will have a lot to do with how we live our last years.

Obviously, they view all people through their own experiences...and since they've admitted a large percentage of illegal drug use, unemployment or underemployment, and homelessness...not to mention being completely unable to function in reality...they fail to recognise the fact that 90% of those "burdensome children" grow up, find real work, and end up being a plus to society and the country.  Of course, as most of the DUmmies are determined to be overall minuses, it's easy to see why they miss the big picture.
