Friday Shenanigans
« on: February 06, 2009, 08:16:42 AM »
I'm heading out, and heading west.  To go play in the snow, and attempt to teach my little sister how to ski.  Should be fun  :cheersmate:

What mischief and debauchery are you up to?

No debauchery today....maybe later tonight, though  :naughty:.

No big plans...trying to figure out whats happening this weekend.  Trying to meet up with my sister and her family...last family gathering/hurrah before her son goes to Basic Training (he goes the 16th), but she is next to impossible to arrange anything with.

Might go to an Outdoor show (fishing, hunting ,rvs, etc) tomorrow with the boys, if I can find something to do with my daughter.

Having some coffee right now and heading down to the pool for a bit.  I tore up a muscle in my leg wednesday night and I'm going to hit the hot tub, which will hopefully help.  Hurts like a sonnuvagun.

The heat went out in my hotel room here last night and it was 60 degrees in the room when I woke up.  Which is actually pretty comfortable for me but they freaked out at the desk when I asked them to take a look at it.  I think I may be getting a room switch or a deep discount today. :)

When I checked in the desk clerk asked me if I was here for the naval graduation (Great Lakes Naval Academy is turning out a crop of squids this weekend apparantly) I told him I was here for a gaming convention and the guy perked right up and started asking me a ton of questions and got really excited about hitting it this weekend.  I had to go back down after checking in because the computer didn't like my Master Card/Debit card and I needed to use a "Real" credit card to pay for the suite. They were billing me $165 a night and I hadn't really realized it till I asked. I asked him about a AAA or Hilton Honors discount and he told me that the rate was way out of line and hit a few keys and told me that he had adjusted it to $79 bucks a night!  I thanked him pretty profusely.  He said he wouldn't have known about the gaming con if I hadn't told him and that it was the least he could do. Being a geek saved me a ton of money. :-)

Gonna soak in the hot tub for a while then head over to the convention and pick up my registration crap and do some shopping.  Sunny and warmish here today in the outskirts of Chitown.

Been doing reports since 7 this morning...2 left to do.

Sun is out, going up to around 50 today....60's this weekend! Which seems really weird since there is still snow on the ground....

I'm feeling the urge to do some spring cleaning/organizing.......I better go take my temperature....I must have a high fever..... :thatsright:

I went to bed early last night and am well rested today.  It's currently cloudy and 59 outside.

I was pretty busy at work yesterday and I think I'll be busy today as well.  I started the proceedings yesterday to file a mechanic's lien against a vehicle.

I'm gonna have to work here tomorrow, to make up my hours for being off on Wednesday.  :(  I was supposed to work at the real estate office this weekend, but the other lady that does the weekend duty switched with me.  Hopefully time will go by fast tomorrow.

Guns show Saturday morning, then trying to finish work on my F150 front end, damaged by a deer in November.  Finished all the metal and paint work, about halfway through the plastic stuff, with all the light assemblies on hand.  Oh, I do have to make one very small bracket, but it's just a piece of strap steel, drilling two holes, and putting a diagonal bend in the brace.  Plenty of other outside work to do after that, but I need to get that sucker roadworthy again in case my another vehicle goes down.

Aw don't bum me out E!  :)  My parents saw it and said it's pretty rough, but they enjoyed it.  I'm not a chick flick kinda gal, so I like the movies that are more rough around the edges  :)

I'm off work at 11 or so this morning, then it's a trip to Wally World for cake-making stuff. Gotta bake two cakes for church on Sunday - something to do with Valentine's Day.  :whatever:

This particular recipe is one that my mother scrounged up from someplace. But it's a killer. It's a date cake (no, not date RAPE, you knotheads  :hammer: ). The cake itself is fairly dense and moist, keeps for awhile, and it's topped with a broiled butter/brown sugar/coconut/and chopped walnuts icing that is to die for.

I have a meeting all afternoon tomorrow and I have to prepare a Sunday school class tomorrow morning.

Dang, sounds like I'm a regular thumper!  :-)

Oh, I've got a guy coming over this afternoon to take a look at a section of my house that may need some additional insulation.

And I'll probably take the pup for a long walk also.
