« on: February 05, 2009, 12:28:35 PM »
Quote
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has undergone surgery for pancreatic cancer, apparently at an early stage.

The court said the 75-year-old Ginsburg had the surgery Thursday at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She will remain in the hospital for seven to 10 days, said her surgeon. Dr. Murray Brennan. This was according to a release issued by the court. ...

That is serious stuff, hope she has a full recovery.

You're too kind.

This is Bader-Ginsburg, I cannot hope anything for her.

However, when she croaks, the bamster will appoint an EVEN BIGGER COMMUNIST to replace her.

I didn't want to say that.....but since you did...ditto what BadCat said....now who is a bigger communist?....hmmmmmm......

I don't think that's possible.  Pancreatic cancer is usually a losing proposition, though, and I hope she can see it through with as little pain as possible.

I have my doubts about that.  Pancreatic cancer waits for no one.  It's just about the most deadly and invasive cancer one can get.

Whenever a fellow human being is sufferring, I am sorrowful and unhappy.  This communist lady is no different.  I hope she finds peace with little pain.

The only joy I find, and I mean this with much respect, is that I know every liberal is suddenly a staunch conservative within about 30 seconds after death.  I know that Molly Ivins is in her element right now leading the Heavenly Typewriter League against the Obama administration.  Her respect for George W. Bush is immense.

There is no requirement the SCOTUS even be a lawyer, much less a judge.  We could end up with howard dean.

Doubtful.  There's a reason Dean isn't in the administration.

Horrible cancer.  But she's no spring chicken.  I feel for her as a human though...cancer treatment is a tough road to travel.
Maybe she will re-think her stance on killing human babies?  Cancer has been known to bring out faith in everyone.

If we were like those on DU, we would be saying Die Bitch Die.

But what are we doing?

Showing compassion for her condition, and even offering prayers on her behalf.

The difference is amazing.

We are not like those neanderthals.  We have the ability to feel compassion....even for those who have shown none.

Be that as it may, we are still viewed as without compassion by the typical DUer.

Ironic is it not?

One of the reasons this particular cancer is so often fatal is that normally by the time it is detected it is too late.  I learned this he hard way with a very close friend a few years ago.  He died exactly 5 weeks after the diagnosis.  This is a very vicious form of cancer.  I find it ironic that she will be the recipient of so many prayers for healing....prayers she would likely deny.

That "love your enemies" thing is one of the toughest aspects of the faith. I pray that she's comforted, and that God keeps her....away from any Supreme Court decisions.
