Matt Lauer brought interview questions for a celebrity, not the President of the United States.

President Obama gave answers like a celebrity instead of President of the United States.

I think the interview went exactly as they both expected.

And I think the reactions to it in this thread are a little overblown.

I expect a sitting President of the United States to act with more than juvenile decorum, and not like a spolied hollywood celebrity.

I hope he soon learns to act less like a hollywood celebrity and more like a world leader.

I have plenty of serious issues with Obama to take this one too seriously, but I bet this little quip brings his popularity UP with the masses, not down.

The thing is though...this is exactly who he was before he was elected.

I guess I just don't understand the shock. Of course he spoke without tact. That's who he is. People still voted voted him in and they probably ate it up yesterday.

I don't know. Maybe I'm too resigned to what we have for the next four years. Nothing shocks me anymore? Wasting energy on something like this just seem futile.

I have to save up my energy for keeping my job and not going broke.

Seriously, he needs to conduct himself with a lot more maturity and forethought.  He won't have a teleprompter in front of him when he is dealing with other world leaders.  

Simply put, he ain't a community organizer for ACORN dealing with the boys on the block anymore .

I'm not going to ignore it per se. I'm certainly going to pay attention to it all. But what can my kvetching about it do to change the situation?

I guess I expect this kind of classless dialogue from him for the next four years.

We can wish and hope that he strives for a higher standard of decorum. But you know the old saying, "Wish in one hand, shit in the other, see what you get first."

Absolutely agree. But again, the fact that this guy can't rub two thoughts together without help wasn't a secret. So, we can wish for a guy who has great maturity and forethought but that's all we can do--wish. Most of America didn't care about that or they wouldn't have voted for him.

I don't know. Call me a bad conservative or whatever. I can't waste my energy on every childish, tactless thing that he says.

I guess I am going to bury my head in the sand. I'll see you in two years when we will try to at least stop some of the damage he has caused.

The estimate I've seen, and I don't doubt it for a moment, is that 2.2 million fraud votes were cast in strategic locals.  It was all about the electoral, remember?
